Joe Canning, Unquestionably the GOAT

It was poor goalkeeping get a grip man. He changed his mind as it came at him as to how he was gonna deal with it. A club keeper would be disappointed let alone one at the top of his sport

Bennett made a play on the ball (cc new fangled spud hockey journalists) but he didn’t cross the line of the ball. Callanan was obviously distracted by him but was never unsighted and had an uninterrupted view of the ball all the time. His mistake, as Brendan Cummins pointed out on The Sunday Game, was initially going to kill the ball with his hurl before changing his mind very late on and trying to take it in his hand. He didn’t readjust in time and let it slip past him. Nowhere near as bad as the goal in the 2001 final but a bad keeper error in my opinion.

What the fuck would Brendan Cummins know about it ??

For me Cunninghams big failure was 2013 more than any other year. They were a rabble against us in Thurles the same day Barry Kelly reffed KK out of it against Cork. All Ireland was there for the taking that day and Clare stood up when really Galway should have.

Labane, the defender did absolutely everything he possibly could, on the limit of legality (it should in fact have been a penalty)
The defender didn’t touch the sliotar.
What more do you want?

Did you have refuelling issues?

I’m sure you have a very objective opinion of Galway defenders. Anyway, not worth arguing over, we won.

So you’re shit at all sports?

In hurling I always say the best technical player should be culbaire .

Because they’re good at it? Goalkeepers win (or lose) more games in all field sports (involving goalkeepers) than any other position. Totally ignorant comment from you.

Séamus Shinnors! Where did Babs find him. That was some exhibition of goalkeeping in the 1979 final.

What do the goalkeepers do in field sports not involving goalkeepers?

A pack of heaving lunatics.

They couldn’t even find their own keeper.

Rugby (all flavors) is not a sport.

Of all the finals Galway lost, strangely enough it’s the least talked about, even though the most obviously ripe for conspiracy theorists.

Shinners is from my own neck of the woods. Father would have played club with him. He took a lot of abuse over 79 and it took him decades to deal with it.
