Joe Canning, Unquestionably the GOAT

I still have ptsd from that. I can still remember thinking “oh no” as the ball looped in the general direction of the goal.

No.

In the book “Thinking Fast, Thinking Slow”, Kahnemann described human beings as organisms adapted for jumping to conclusions.

@Sidney destroying @flattythehurdler here.

We are pattern recognition lumps of meat. Taleb’s “Fooled by Randomness” does an excellent job exposing humans’ fatal flaw of seeing patterns where there are none.

Please don’t start commenting on hurling matters mate, the forum will self combust.

I have neither the time nor inclination to debate with you or Sidney on anything. There is neither joy to be had, nor anything useful to be learned.
Sid hates Galway, which is understandable enough
That is all.

Michael Crimmins being cruelly omitted from the list of useless Galway goalkeepers

Seamus Shinnors won a Harty Cup with Limerick CBS in the 1960s . He was a Newport man .

Galway gave ye Tony Reddin ffs

Crimmins was a good goalie but had a mare that day. I blamed Hodgins at centre back for those goals. From memory he put his hand up to catch the ball rather than stopping it getting through. Callinan had a bad game but at least it didn’t cost us. Our minor and U21 goalies were incredibly poor this year. U21 goalie gave up two goals. Minor goalie let in 3 goals from 2 shots.

The minor lad must have shown decent club and training form. Some of these lads just need a year or two to fill out and build confidence. I’m glad it didn’t cost Galway, as it could have destroyed him. There was certainly a shiver up the spine every time a high ball went in. (or a low one)

You can say that for 90% of the forum, mate… it’s a site for venting only.

If they suffer from nerves as a youngster and it affects their performance then they don’t have the necessary mentality to play senior. It’s not something you grow out of. I imagine it gets worse the older you get.

Callanan hadnt the best of days alright but Harte was the real culprit for the first goal, his positioning was terrible.

Still, Colm has been solid all year and for a lad that got his debut under loughnane nearly a decade ago it’s been some roller-coaster ride. Think I’m right in saying he’s the only father on the panel.

The Galway players threw their manager under the bus because they couldn’t face up with their own shortcomings. A bit of contrition wouldn’t have gone astray in the aftermath of their win, it’s the least they owe Tessio.

History is written by the victors —Their AI medals are vindication enough…Cunningham didnt have the minerals.

If Tyrone had the same balls to get rid of Mickey the zealot they might be in a better place.

Almost none of the players who led the campaign (rightly or wrongly) to oust Cunningham were playing last Sunday. A few of the senior players felt their careers were coming to an end without an AI medal and they were correct.

Almost none?

Correct.
