Joe Canning, Unquestionably the GOAT

Shefflin gave the finest display off hurling I’d ever seen in that second half.

the brother was even better

Are you the clown that bigs up callanans influence in big games :joy:

Shefflin was a good player not a great player to paraphrase a great man, the likes of Tommy Walsh was afar better stickman, the likes of Walsh, DJ Carey and JJ Delaney were far more influential

Look, we had this discussion at the time a few years ago and this view you are peddling now did not come out the right end of it. Feel free to dig up the thread.

Yes mate. I’ll do you up a list of what Callanan has scored from play in big games since 2014 later on

It’s what happened. It’s not my view. I didn’t lie about how many times he touched the ball

Why since 2014?

Look, there’s no point in having this argument in a vacuum. Dig up the original discussion there again. His impact on the game was massive.

Because he’s been a completely different player since 2014

Says the lads who hasn’t watched the game in five years. He did some very good things but it wasn’t a dominating performance as people say it was

Don’t mind your big games. Where was callanan yesterday? 2 years ago he missed the crucial penalty. He missed the vital frees yesterday. In 2009 with whole goal at his mercy he put in the one area pj ryan could save it. He’s grand against the likes of dublin or limerick but when he meet good players like daithi burke and jj delaney he shits time and time again.

That’s fine, but you can’t adjust the stats to suit you - You can point out his upward curve since 2014 a part of your case, but you can’t just leave out anything before that to suit yourself.

Shefflin scored 12 out of 19 points for Kilkenny that day.

I’ve played against both and Joe is twice the hurler Shefflington is.

And Michael Fennelly. Fennelly’s performance in the second half of the 2015 final dwarfs anything Shefflin ever did.

Are you mixing up Callanan with Eoin Kelly for that 2009 PJ Ryan save the way you mixed up Brendan Maher with Michael Breen?

No Callanan went through a tried to place the ball high into the top corner when a top class forward would have neatly tucked it low into the corner.

“Don’t mind your big games” You’re the one who brought up his influence in big games in the previous post you flute.

2 years ago he scored a hat trick. He’s a poor penalty taker and was just after getting dumped on his head by Hanbury.

Is that the same JJ Delaney he scored 2-5 off in two All Ireland’s in 2014? He also got the better of Daithi Burke for a lot of the game yesterday
