Quitting on Sunday according to my IRFU sources

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Got a text last night from the chairman of Shannon RFC telling me the same.

The Buccs head man was telling me as much last weekend. He was seething over it.

In truth its a great day for Irish Rugby.

will he see out the world cup?

He’ll be there to the Quarter Final stage and will go home then.

This is going to be a longer goodbye than Drico’s.

Last home Six Nations match.
Last away Six Nations match.
Last World Cup Test match.
Last pre World Cup Test match.
Last Test v Wales.
Last Test v England.
Last Camp in Carton House.
Last interprovincial derby he attends at the RDS.

it’s mad that since 1995 Ireland Rugby has had more Kiwi’s manage the team than Irish men. 4 if you include Les Kiss brief stint.

Surely time for an Irish man to get a go.

Bundee as player-coach?

Irish rugby is bigger than any one man.

of the four provinces - Leo Cullen is the only Irish man as head coach.

We have an Aussie in Connaught. A South African in Munster and an English man heading up Ulster.

Nobody is bigger than Devin Toner.

Great day for Irish rubby. I wonder could they tempt Gatty back?

gatty back for the ruby, mick mac back for the scummy soccer. all we’d need is the clarehurlers forum open again for nostalgia central

Leo Cullen is the most winningnest coach out there, surely hes a shoo in?

Michael Bradley.
Murray Kidd.
Brian Ashton.
Tom Tierney.
Gatz.
Conor O’Shea.

All of the above will have their backers.

I’d like to see a Paulie/ROG dream team.

Ashton has unfinished business

There has to be roles for Franno and Donners in the new set up.

Maybe Stephen Kenny should get the gig. He has done well in Europe apparently.

Donners is a terrific call. He’d be a great conduit between the head coach and the players.
