For reasons I don’t want to go into at the moment this thread has been removed from the forum.
There was some decent debate in there and if people want to continue the idea of the debate I have preserved a couple of the later posts that can be restored for the purposes of hypothetical debate. There were some people who took offence at the thread and at elements of its contents and contacted the site to have it removed. It’s not anybody associated with the case itself but I’d no choice but to respect the request.
I suppose things have to change here across the board really (about time we all matured a little at least) as the site is coming up in many searches (national sports topics in particular) in recent months and has quite a bit of notoriety now. People even googling local club games in the GAA have found it. So i suppose with more popularity comes more responsibility.
Ya, but there has been far far worse stuff said on here that simply weren’t true at all over the years. I’m not just talking about this particular case.
Kev, your “contribution” to the debate was to call for the suspect to not be allowed kill himself and for him to rot in jail. Along with personally insulting me.

You insulted everyone with an ounce of decency with your comments, not too bothered if you felt insulted to be honest. I stand by comments were the alleged incidents to have taken place, but agree i should have waited for the events to be proven first in a court of law, and i indicated as such.
Does that mean the banter cooefficient on this site will collapse? I always assume the only people reading this site are Runt, Dunph and a few fellas in Fingal/Wexford and it doesn’t matter in the real world. Is there anyway we could return the site to its parochial and insular roots?
There’s plenty of message boards one can only read by registering. Why not do that here? It might even serve to get a few of those pesky guests to register and start posting.
