JP McManus ProAm

Fella drove a JCB and took a few bets at the building sites. And happy to donate to all clubs in the country, not demanding an audit from a county board on where his money goes like the fast food benefactor out west.

The LIV players shouldn’t be welcome at this.

Tell that to the Mexicans.

I foresee the people of Adare creating a hostile reception for the LIV tour members, similar to a Superclasico or Istanbul derby.

They won’t. There’ll be a video of some LIV player toora looring in some pub and he will get a big cheer as he downs a pint and will say Ireland is great and the Mick will love him for it and Joe.ie will say how great we are because some rich golfer said so and he didn’t say it about England, so there!

Brooks Koepka set up an account on TFK and ask for a resteraunt recommendation there would be a swarm of @thelimericks lining up to tell him about the Texas steakout

And chips with stuffing and gravy.

The Curragower would surely get a mention.

Was Mark Tighe silenced when trying to do a bit of digging into where The Great Man’s money came from?

Stuffing and gravy don’t go together on chips mate.

It’s gas. He had enough money made at 30 to buy Martinstown Stud and enough by 40 to be part of the Golden Circle that bought and sold the Johnson Mooney and O’Brien site diddling Telecom Eireann in the process. All from plant hire and on course bookmaking. Remarkable.

The Curragowl

A brilliant man when you think about it.

Amazing.

Unbelievable

Are folk suggesting/insinuating a Pablo Escobar type folk hero?

Steady on. Nobody is suggesting or insinuating anything. Just remarking on how remarkable a story it is.

JP should be running the country.

I’m now a die hard golf fan thanks to him.

I’d have little or no doubt jp was involved in some of the stallions in the 80s which were cash cows. Remember Robert sangster went to 13 million US dollars for a foal at the keeneland sales in the late 80s. Barney Curley said joe Donnelly accidentally transferred 300k into his bank account in the early 80s for a bumper horse. The money floating around in gambling and horses in the 80s was crazy.

There is obviously a big bit of the jp story missing and I’d imagine we’ll never find out. That spurs owner who he’s close with is probably the explanation.

He never forgot where he came from in fairness to him. Be great to see Liberties win a County before he croaks.
