I’ve little or no interest in any of this. It doesn’t really bother me. What he does isn’t illegal so I really couldn’t care less.
There’s a few things I hate like being in the dressing room with the Limerick team with cup but I guess he who pays the piper calls the tune. That’s just my opinion of course.
The one thing I find a little odd/ strange Is the portrayal by many people including the media of jp as this ordinary man with little or no profile who is incredibly wealthy.
Like he owns how many homes, five start hotels etc. arriving into hurling games in a helicopter or down to Killarney in a helicopter for the races. Even flying into Augusta for two days, back to aintree and then back over to Augusta again on a private jet.
Like he’s one of the most powerful people on the planet and he doesn’t really hide any of it. He doesn’t give the media a look in for obvious reasons but it’s just a little odd in my opinion the way he’s portrayed as this low profile man of the people.
He’s been incredibly loyal with the horses and maybe it comes from that sort of thing.
Private people. They sold them pre JP. They come with free manor membership for life. He tried to buy them back but most of them wouldn’t sell them, because they are already loaded
The demense private estate all the mansions? He only owns a couple of them, the former CEO Hannon is in one. Only thing else is the Villas down at the back, mostly staff in those but they are used by guests too to comedic effect for what they are getting and the cost.
Most houses/property on a resort like Adare, Doonbeg, Fota, Mount Juliet etc are privately owned by foreign investors. They were built and sold with the intention of raising funds for development of the resort themselves. Often the resort will lease rooms in these every year and manage the property from a maintenance and facilities point of view.
The media portrayal as a man of the people is absolutely hilarious.
You need a hell of an ego to need a helicopter to get from Martinstown to Thurles, and ensure Dr. Morris Park is free from activity so they can land the chopper.
How many days does he even spend in Ireland? Is there accountability of this? Like you could easily add up 70 or 80 days off hand between GAA, Racing and other events he attends. But i suppose if he’s in the TUS Gaelic Grounds on a Sunday but the Private Jet leaves Coonagh for Geneva that night, then maybe some of those days dont count…
I know he went straight to Sandy Lane when the pandemic hit and probably winters over there a fair bit, but I couldn’t see him spending much time in Geneva to be honest.
