Another twelfth, another night to shame decent orange men and alienate apolitical protestants. Despite the kerfuffle over bonfires, and the dissident attempts to stoke dying embers in Derry, it’s all getting very civilised.
The fury and defiance of ulster protestantism is burning itself out. The bulwark of the dup is resisting yet another internal scandal just when it would traditionally been playing to the siege mentality.
The uvf and the udr are running out of road quicker than you can say dee stitt’s a wee tit.
