Just one Concert

Bruce Springsteen inspired this thread.

If you could go to a concert of any band/artist in their prime, at any time in history who would it be. No woodstock or any shit like that one band/artist

I’d say a Queen concert would have been epic.

Thin Lizzy

Garth Brooks

Queen were often only so so live.

I saw the Cramps put on an astonishing live show in CBGBs in 1979. I’d love to see them live again at their prime but as Lux interior is mo longer with us that’s unlikely.

Fucking hell Fagan. 1. How old ARE you? and 2. Are you serious? Did you see anyone else at CBGBs?

Thin Lizzy would be tempting but I’d probably opt for Marvin Berry and the Starlighters at Hill Valley High School so I could cut the phone line and nick that Johnnie B. Goode for myself.

Springsteen

Sinatra

I was the first one who played Daft Punk to the rock kids. I played it at CBGBs.

Bruce all the way.

This is a stupid thread. It’s just naming a band. No context or eras or venues given. Poor attempt at a good idea.

I would like to have been at the first performance of Handel’s Messiah in the great music hall in Fishamble St, Dublin on April 13th 1742. I’m sure this would have been a remarkable occassion. One of my favourite pieces of any type of music.

Failing that, Dizzy Gillespie in Minton’s in Harlem in the 40’s or 50’s with the likes of Monk, Davis and Parker would have been pretty amazing I’ll wager.

The best band I have ever seen BTW is Radiohead and I’d be quite happy to see them anywhere.

Hey old man, just cos you lost a game of astro this evening, there’s no need to get ratty with the rest of us. You don’t see Bandage acting like a little bitch because of it.

Saw Television, Richard Hell and the Voidoids, Patti Smith and Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers at CBGBs. I was in the 7B bar on my way to see Blondie but I got into conversation with a Marilyn Monroe lookalike and in the end I didn’t get to see Blondie. [quote=“Thrawneen, post: 636645”]

That is pretty fucking impressive Fagan, I was just about to ask if you saw Patti Smith. What were Television like? You seem to have led a very interesting life.

BTW - TFK ASTRO LOST? WTF?

The Doors in the Whisky A Go-Go circa 1966

I couldn’t honestly say Fitzy. I was off my rocker but they were very very loud. [quote=“Fitzy, post: 636654”]

I think thats probably the only answer you could give to that question, kudo’s.

FFS I was gonna go with that…

I’d like to have been on the boat with The Sex Pistols when they launched God Save The Queen that time.
