Better news for amateur boxer Taylor outside of the ring.

Accumulated profits at the company owned by boxer Katie Taylor have exceeded €1.2 million following a successful year outside the ring for the reigning Olympic champion.

KT Sports Limited saw profits increase by more than €250,000 last year and reported a cash balance of €925,952 in accounts filed to the Companies Office last week.

The firm’s accumulated profits stood at €1,203,846 at the end of its financial year on 30 June 2015, according to the accounts.

The Irish boxer is currently in Kazakhstan for the World Championships, where she hopes to defend her title for the sixth consecutive time and secure qualification for this summer’s Olympic Games in Brazil.

The 29-year old is the sole shareholder in KT Sports Ltd and is listed as a director along with her mother, Bridget Taylor (54). The company’s directors were paid remuneration of €67,017 last year.

Accumulated profits increased by 27 per cent during the 12-month period, while the firm’s cash pile grew by €239,940 to €925,952. The company was owed €393,676 by its debtors at the end of last June.

A total of €115,781 remained payable to creditors, according to the accounts, €111,231 of which related to taxation.

The firm was established in 2009, four years after Ms Taylor won her first gold medal at the European Amateur Boxing Championships in Norway in the 60kg lightweight class.

She has won five back-to-back gold medals at the World Championships and was Ireland’s flag bearer at the 2012 Olympics in London, where she went on to claim a gold medal in the lightweight division.

Outside the ring, she has benefitted from sponsorship deals with the likes of Toyota, Aramark, Lucozade, KPMG and Adidas.

She is also engaged in a lot of charity work and is associated with Barnardos, Zest4Kids, Bray Lakers, and Wicklow Hospice Foundation.

Nice mention of the charity work there at the end.

She saw the end coming, dead right to cash in.

Very unusual the way the fight was awarded. Two judges scored it a draw and one awarded it to Taylor. In those circumstances the ones who call it a draw have to pick a winner, they called it to the Italian. Seems strange.

I only saw the last round but thought Taylor was totally outboxed in it. The Italian threw straight and more accurate punches while Taylor was throwing increasingly wild loopy hooks, mostly missing, and looked increasingly flustered as the round went on.

Presume there’s a story there behind the father leaving her corner also. Might be a good time to start spreading wild rumours.

Taylor was outboxed in the 2012 Olympic final but curiously got the decision.

The winner was French mate

100% correct. The authorities decided the ‘sports’ golden girl had to be rewarded and she got the decision which all boxing enthusiasts will know right well was flaky as fuck.
Other more advanced sporting nations since it became an ‘Olympic sport ’ have targetted woman’s fighting as a soft medal opportunity and ‘Katie’ is now getting a few clitters that she didn’t take before and she clearly doesn’t like it up her.

Also the decision of the Irish ‘media’ to ignore and turn a cheek to the commonly known reason her old man is no longer teaching her is a fucking disgrace.
