Ireland light-welterweight Kellie Harrington fell just short in her quest for gold at the World Championships today, finishing with silver after defeat to China’s Wenlu Yang.
Harrington can consider herself unlucky following a close and lively fight in Kazakhstan.
One judge had the bout drawn, while another gave the Chinese fighter all four rounds, such is the unpredictable nature of the scoring.

Evanne Ni Chuilinn was sent out to Astana to cover the boxing so I’d say she is filing the reports. Evanne is a highly regarded commentator on boxing and in fairness to her is a keen student of the technical aspects of the fight game.
