Kilkenny GAA thread

That’s a really tough blow to a parish that have had their fair share of tragedies over the past few years. Sorry to hear it @Malarkey.

I think it was on this thread where I mentioned that, similar to @Piles_Hussain, anytime I marked him I barely got a look in. The perfect full / corner back, you’d be chasing shadows all game and before you know it the game would’ve passed you by.

Is 42 correct @Malarkey? I’m trying to do some maths in my head and it’s not quite working out. Paul is younger than his more successful brother isn’t he?

Thanks.

Henry was born in January 1979.

Paul was born in 1980. Do not know his birthday month.

Thanks, he must’ve just turned 42 in the last few months

My condolences @Malarkey and thoughts with his family left behind. It’s sad to think so much an be visited on one club in recent years - and not the biggest by any stretch.

RIP Paul Shefflin.

Henry strikes me as a gent so if his brother was like him he can’t have been bad,

Paul would have been 42 on June 30.

Thank you. Still not quite sinking in.

Thank you.

Thank you.

RIP and condolences to his family and friends. Can’t imagine the grief of the family when a young fit man goes out for a run and doesn’t return. Heard of a similar case in Kerry as well this week

Are you related to the Shefflins? I say that knowing that all of us from south KK are in some way related.

No, not at all. But the children in my generation of both families would be close in age. Eight of us between 1967 and 1984. Seven Shefflins between 1968 and 1980.

Sound people who have just suffered the worst possible loss.

Good win today. I wasn’t expecting that after all the hype about Waterford lately. Once kk weathered the initial storm Waterford didn’t seem as dangerous.

Some of the kk young lads coming of age. Filling out and aren’t as easily pushed off the ball. Great to think that we’re still competitive. I was expecting a beating today to be honest.

I also think the game was well reffed. I always said that if over carrying was unforced that the game would flow better. I think that was proved today. Some big hits went in but I think the ref got most of them right also.

Hopefully a competitive summer lies ahead. When’s TJ back?

Winning Kilkenny man thinks the ref was decent shocker.
