What the fuck were Galway doing training on Stephen’s Day, FFS. That’s ridiculous. Would have thought most counties would have given 23rd to 29th or so off with a bit of individual running or something.
Donoghue is under pressure. They have to hit the ground running.
Last year was a disaster in many ways. They must have been hammered about seven times in League and Championship.
The penny must have dropped when he looks back on the two games they played v Tipp last year. Their first and last games of the season when they were miles off it in both.
They went back very early this winter and seem to have been dogging it out all over Christmas and the New Year. Maybe it will stand to them. Galway despise Tipp so it will have stung, but they would also compare themselves to Tipp and have a reasonably similar outlook on the game. They’ll think they can copy what Tipp did last winter and see where it takes them.
The League and Leinster Championships are quite winnable for them if they got it together. They do have loads of good hurlers.
Lawlor and Billy Ryan gone yeah
Teachers, students and lads own gyms son.
Coffee vans too
This will be an ever growing list. I remember Chinner had a coffee place out in Pairc Carman. Worst place for it bar for matches. Then your man started Clearwater, rest is history
Not a current intercounty panelist but Joe O’Connor seems to be doing OK, opened his 2nd premises this week in Piercestown.
Constant stream of people he has in there. Coffee is really good, açai bowls the best in the country. Joe is sound as well.
Last year they’d 7 wins and 6 losses between league and championship, the 6 losses were by 8 points or more, Galway’s championship record since 2018 is crazy considering their underage record and vibrant club championship.
Galway at this stage should look to adopt the Tipp sweeper system going forward. Not to the extent of the two sweepers they lined up against Limerick in 2020 however
Miles off S and C in recent years in hurling at all levels.
That will change.
Lukasz still there?
With Clare.
He transformed that 2017 squad something I’ve never had seen before. Kinnerk took notes.
Agreed on Murphy.
Eoin Cody is almost at peak age so we really need him to start delivering more. I don’t see us winning anything unless he doesn’t. I know he has had a few injuries to deal with and also mgt haven’t helped by leaving him stuck in corner forward. Hopefully the move shamrocks made will be replicated to some extent.
Serious question for the Kk posters here…
Why does Nowlan Park not have floodlights? Why does your senior team have to train in Carlow? Is the county board not doing much for infrastructure? Any plans? Is Dunmore up to scratch as a training ground since it’s opened?
James Stephens don’t have a floodlit pitch either. 5 pitches, none fully lit.
It’s baffling.
When I was growing up, all you’d hear down Wexford way was how well Ned Quinn ran the place. Should be doing better. Like I’d say the city would go mad for floodlights in Nowlan Park of a Saturday night and they all being asked to pay for a spinsor board and that. 100% baffling.
I’ve heard the JS one might be planning/objections related. But the newer lights have a much smaller light footprint. Has to happen sooner than later.
I remember the lads in Corish Park back in the day objecting to the ones in Wexford Park. Must be the same along Hebron Road.
