From interviews earlier in the year I think he’s angry about last year. He thinks that if he had gotten better advice and taken the year off it might have been better for him. After six operations on his knee it seems strange that he is in such shock over it though. Surely he knew that couldn’t go on much longer?

That can’t be right. There’s no way we have lads who can score that many points. Piltown must have been fouling a lot and very close to their own goal.
The ould lad said they hurled really well against Kilmacow in the last game, but he’s convinced it will all fall apart. Too many flaky hoors on the team who are liable to fuck off at the drop of a hat.
Yep. The auld lad told me and I looked it up when I got the chance. He was at the game, below in piltown and all. Said Hulky has them purring. He was so impressed he nearly optimistic they might do well this year.
In saying that they lost to the Boro the outing before that but we’re missing young bergin and McDowell and they’d be big losses to the team.

Mean the while, back in Galway, a proper sporting county, not some one trick monkey, I was invited to tog out at junior c on Friday evening, but I couldn’t cos of the swim briefing. I’m still sickened by it, though at least I’m still in possession of my fingers.
Heard that about the Specials alright but that was more of a thing that some lads didn’t want to play for them and would happily sit on the Juniors subs bench.

Captain of an AI hurling minor winning team. Serious hurler as well as footballer. Fair fucks to him.
Was in Kilkenny last weekend at a wedding. It’s a city I like but they are quite joyless when it comes to hurling. I suppose in fairness if we were all winning as much as them, we might be the same. I don’t think they take any great pleasure in victory; it’s more they have a fear of defeat.
