Kilkenny Hurling

It was supposed to be financed by the sale of the old grounds in Larchfield so I suppose they are waiting for a miraculous economic recovery or someone to die and leave it to them.
Failing those options- they would need to get baking and selling lotto tickets.

they should be relegated to junior c like what happened to Glasgow rangers

I’m not sure if we have a Junior C but we definitely have Junior B
There would be mass trauma, heart attacks and strokes in Delaneys and Christys if that happened !
I think The Village has been a senior club near enough it’s whole life.

Fuck sake

Yer man Hartmann will have him playing in straight lines vs Offaly this weekend.

he’s had a nightmare time of it but he wasn’t in the senior squad at any rate?

He was, just had one injury after another since about Christmas. A blood clot in the leg from a blow at training (very slow to heal and obviously dangerous) and an ankle injury, also sustained in training. He played in the second half ofthe challenge match against Clare and scored a goal at the end.
The injured players do rehabilitation training sessions at different times to the main squad sessions.

Very little word on the ground in the midlands but seemingly Shane Dooley has lost a load of weight and is flying.

Visited the Village’s new grounds at the weekend. Some set-up in fairness. The pitches are as good as I’ve seen. Vast tracts of bowling green-like surfaces. 3 full size pitches (same size as Croke Park seemingly) and 3 smaller training pitches as well as loads of extra land. It’s too big if anything, the debt must be huge and the location is a bit daft but they really have done a great job out there.[/QUOTE]

Here is the new location @corner back?

The new Village grounds are out the Kells Road, huge they are!

I think they stopped calling it Special Junior a while back- officially anyway-

Doesn’t matter, it will always be the Specials to those of a certain vintage such as meself and Locke.

Good to know. I live nearish to Threecastles now and they only field a Special Junior B side, I haven’t been sure what to call them.

Footballers

Too drastic

Just don’t call them Freshford and you’ll be alright.

Oh I know that… Imagine how many factions there would be in Freshford if Threecastles ever gave up the ghost and were subsumed

Conversation would go something like: “Threecastles are not only a Special Junior team but they are a Special Junior B team!”
If the person you are talking to doesn’t know what you are talking about, end the conversation.

Good times Piles, good times…

New location is out Kells Road just past Bamford Cross.

Just to be pedantic @Midshipman Asha, I don’t think the plan was to sell Larchfield. They had planned to sell the ground up the road at St Joseph’s where the youngsters hurled. I think it was sale agreed and fell through, not dissimilar to Portlaoise.

It was definitely Special Junior in my time. The most dangerous level to play hurling at. Even if lads weren’t dirty, some would be so awkward that you’d get a belt anyway. I remember having to go to casualty to get stitches after playing Muckalee once. I came out to find two more of my teammates in the waiting room. You’d need your helmet against those boys.

Sorry @corner back, I knew they were selling something and had forgotten about that other ground. Much and all that I dislike the village, I wouldn’t like to see Larchfield gone and the new grounds are terrific. Apparently the pitches are the last word altogether
