Didn’t Jacobs publish some research (or a book) about why the Irish love softer biscuits which the Brits prefer harder ones? And that’s why they produced all these brands. I remember something on the radio about that.
Maybe it’s the same reason why we prefer floury spuds and they prefer the soapy ones.

Wouldn’t be a fan of putting chocolate on coconut creams or mikados, wouldn’t do much for them. Especially in the case of mikados, there is already enough going on there.
Beyond the sentimental value they really are a shit biscuit. Shit for tea dipping as well which really pushes them into the special occasion biscuit category. Mikado on its own not too bad, but generally only encountered on visits to your grandmother.
