King Henry of Galway (Part 1) 👑

played a bit in the backs in schools rugby apparently

As Davy Fitz said just “fuck it into Joe” and when Joe gets it just “run at em”.

Simple really.

Might as well put Canning at 6, the Galway attack never seems to function with him as its focal point.

I heard the hurlers had a savage training session in Limerick there last week.
Savage altogether

He was injured for a swathe of 2012, and was a bonus when he came back I think.

Joe gets an ‘injury’ roughly this time every year that Portumna aren’t involved in the club

1 Wouldn’t blame him.
2 Hard to fake a broken finger.
3. Better for Galway if they learn to play without him.

Joe Canning - Can’t play with him, can’t play without him

They tried that the last two years and left him a marginalised figure. Why they changed from what they were doing in 2012 I don’t know.

He missed a swathe of 2012 through injury iirc

Its as good fake if it is

Seemingly it was dislocated and put back in on the pitch. He looked to be in pain during this procedure. I wonder did they damage it trying to force it back in?

Very pleasing performance from the footballers minus Corofin lads and Conroy. The Varleys look good, Cummins looks like he’s picking right up where he left off last year. O Currain is a class act in the middle, we were totally dominant there again. Shane Walsh is exquisite but can give the ball away lazily, needs to cut that shite out. Looks genuine top drawer on the ball otherwise. We started well but switched off as well for a long period in the 1st half. Picked up well though in the 2nd when Meath got it down to 2 and drove on from there. Scoreline flatters Meath, their goal came with pretty much the last kick of the game. They were muck, wouldn’t be surprised if they get relegated going on that. Nice start for the new regime all the same

He won’t be making much giving handjobs for a few weeks.

He was operated on last Wednesday so twas a nasty enough break. Sure he loves the limelight… hard to blame him I suppose. Come 5 years he’ll be in the wasteland of former Galway greats who have to get on with the rest of their lives… wyse decision to make as much as he can along the way. Within reason of course.
