None of it was, Kurt played his acoustic thru an amp for the entire gig. You can hear a chorus effect for Come As You Are as well.
Layne did write a handful of songs, to be fair, but that band without him is not AIC.
Seanie OāSullivan from Ballymuck who was reared on a farm is down with the homies, word up. Christ there is a few of these gobshites in every parish Iād say, arguing in the pub about Biggie and Tupac and who is the best
As time went on Layne wrote a lot of the lyrics, probably 50% after the first album. Most of the lyrics on Dirt for example are Staley, with the obvious exception of Rooster. No doubt Cantrell was the lifeblood of the band and in my view joint best guitarist of the grunge scene with Mike McCready, but Staleyās voice elevated AIC to a level beyond all other Seattle bands. Anyway, my favorite Staley song, with some outstanding work by Cantrell towards the endā¦
Late to the debate but Cobain wouldnāt allow Grohl to get involved in song writing. Foo Fighters have proven Kurt to be correct. Heās a magnificent drummer though.
Very Ape v Learn to Fly.
Foos are grand, saw them in Marlay Park round 2008ish, great band to see live. Most of their songs however just lack that bit of a cut about them. Stacked Actors is a banginā tune.
Uve nailed it, they lack that bit of cut. Thereās a comment on youtube for Very Ape āMy neighbours listen to this every night, why? cos theyāve no fucking choiceā
Iām going to give that a ādart in the middle of a dartboardā rating.
23 years gone - never forgotten
Itās better to burn out than fade away.
Kurt Cobain, Martin McGuinness and Tom Brady - the three greatest men of the modern eraā¦ Itās a lot for Tom to carry now.
Iām not a huge Nirvana fan but I really liked unplugged. However Iād say itās akin to saying Fleetwood Macs greatest hits is your favourite ever album (hello Sean Og)
Unplugged is much more than a Greatest Hits album in fairness. It was a pointer to an interesting new direction but we never got to see where it was going to go.
