The Premier League™ has done a reasonably good job of keeping things competitive throughout the 20 teams.
Personally I’d prefer it to go back to the old system where all gate receipts were pooled and divided equally between each team in the top division.
I’d like to see something similar done at a wider European level although I don’t quite know how that would work.
A European Super League is a non-runner and I hope that remains the case as it will cement and exaggerate the inequalities that already exist, and also be boring as fuck.
Regional leagues (ie. Scandinavia, the Balkans, Iberia) might work, but again that would be difficult to implement if the pyramid system on which the whole of association football is based on is to remain, and it should remain.
