Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships 2016

Aileenā€™s hair always gives her the look of a girl whoā€™s not long out of the shower.

Fine cut of a girl.

Aileen levels the match at 1-1. Almost took out a 146 outshot but got another shot at double 13 and only needed one dartā€¦

Aileen misses three doubles and Trina nips in to break for 2-0 in the decider. That could be key.

Gulliverā€™s travels go on. Sheā€™s in the final. As well as Iā€™ve seen her play in years, perhaps as well as Iā€™ve ever seen her play.

Aileen can take a lot from her performance in this tournament.

Ah she lost her way completely in that last set. Hopefully sheā€™ll come back stronger for the experience.
Be nice to see Trina win her tenth now. Lovely to see her missus there in full voice. Another for the Lakeside wives hall of fame.

Very interesting stat there. Deta leads Trina 17-10 in head to head matches, even though sheā€™s never won a world title.

Iā€™m a massive fan of The Silencer, would love to see him do it this year.

A 141 check out gets Scotty Dog on the board. A leg apiece.

Veenstra 2 sets up at the break. Scotty couldnā€™t check out 149 but left himself on double 8. Richard stepped in and finished 100 with 2 darts.

Potential health issue for Scotty Dog here. Heā€™s clearly feeling the heat, literally, up on that Lakeside stage. Heā€™s a diabetic.

Mark McGeeney, who he beat yesterday, mentoring him during the break.

Outstanding trivia tidbit there from Vassos.

Scotty Dog was once managed in school football by Harry Redknapp - 'Arry was the manager of Bournemouth at the time and Scotty went to the same school as his kids, including Jamie. 'Arry managed the school team when he wasnā€™t managing Bournemouth.

Despite suffering from what was thought to be a potentially fatal imbalance in his blood sugar levels, heā€™s roared back into the match, taling the third set and a leg up in set 4.

Thatā€™s why heā€™s the champion.

Thatā€™s why Scotty Dog is defending champion.

Needs 96, strays into 1 but recovers with treble and then double 19.

5 legs on the bounce for Scotty and heā€™s yet to miss a double.

Clutch from the Dutchman to make it 3-1.

Wow. Richard storms back to win the 4th set by 3-2. A 110 check out to seal the deciding leg is met with applause by Scotty Dog. Great camaraderie between the players.

Five legs on the bounce for Scotty but the last two of those are in Veen as the Dutchman reels off three in a row.

Thatā€™s a real shot in the arm for Veenstra.

So close to the 9 darter for Scotty there. 4 treble 20s but misses with the fifth.

Richard is only a set away from victory now.

Veenstra has won six legs in a row now and that looks to have insulinated him from any potential comeback.

Can the World Champion somehow turn this around?

Geezer has full confidence that his great friend Scotty Dog will come back. Given the amount of comebacks weā€™ve seen in this tournament, you canā€™t rule it out.

This is much more like the real Scott Mitchell.

2-0 up in set 6. Six perfect darts in the second leg, eventually takes it in 11.
