I downloaded Hamiltonā€™s book tonight, so looking forward to tackling it this week

4 Corners is like Panorama, very good investigative journalism. Recently celebrated its 50th anniversary incidentally.

cheers Fitzy.

Nauseating comments from Stuart Oā€™Grady today on cyclingnews.

Never even thought about doping during his career. Wasnā€™t an option.

Miguel Indurain had the lowest ever recorded resting rate of 28. He was a genetic freak. But Iā€™d say he got out of cycling at the right time (for his own good), if you know what I mean.

Cyclists of Armstrong and Indurainā€™s build would never have won the tour the france in the 80s. Their body type was too much of a disadvantage in the mountains. But with a ā€œlittle helpā€ their body type became an advantage.

Indurain comes out of all this smelling of roses. Is there any evidence against him and his potential to have doped?

I think itā€™s fair to say that every winner of Le Tour since the early 80ā€™s up until now was/is a doper. If the dope gives people such an advantage, then how could people who are clean beat them?

Due to the seemingly insurmountable evidence that Lance Armstrong participated in doping and misled Nike for more than a decade, it is with great sadness that we have terminated our contract with him. Nike does not condone the use of illegal performance enhancing drugs in any manner.
Nike plans to continue support of the Livestrong initiatives created to unite, inspire and empower people affected by cancer.

Link to official Nike Site here. Heā€™s also stepped down as Chair of Livestrong.

And there it goes. No coming back from this. I presume all the Lance backers will do the decent thing now and follow suit.

A business decision.

Theyā€™re a massive corporation, every decision they make is a business decision.

Itā€™s an outrage that Nike were kept in the dark like that all this time.

You would think he would have had the honesty and decency to let them in on the shenanigans

well they made a bad one when they blindly supported him last week.

I Wonder do they condone child labour

sickening stuff from Nike

dont they know Lance never failed a drug test- why turn on him ?

I would be shocked if Lemond doped. I would be surprised if Wiggins doped. Iā€™d be a little surprised if Evans doped. Advantage dopers get in recent years has decreased as they can only really micro dope now so bit more of an even playing field. Tour winners this year and last and Hesjedalā€™s win in the Giro proves that.

Thought it was pathetic as well. Jens Voigt too is someone who has thoroughly p-ssed me off in this whole episode. Riding in Austin with Armstrong soon and been very quiet to condemn his actions despite stressing how we have moved on etc.
Pevenageā€™s comments on disparity to what Ullrich and Armstrong were up to were telling. Ullrich too though cannot complain as he chose to dope.

I heard Lemond being interviewed by Matt Cooper last week and he comes across as a decent sort so I hope he didnā€™t dope. Iā€™d say Wiggins is in it up to his sideburns.
