He’s an absolute rat but if others have done wrong, then why not is right. It is just possible that this is the final straw that will fully cleanse and regenerate cycling and Lance will be a hero after all.

This is amazing. I remember buying Cycle Sport in early 1999 and they had a report on Lance, Kevin and someone else going on a training ride from Lance’s base in Nice. They were testing themselves up some mountain, to see what kind of condition they were in. Lance was in good shape. Then Sestriere. Worth watching on Youtube for the sheer audacity and unbelievable nature of his performance. It’s unreal.

And now this. After so many years, a million press conferences, litigation, denials, the brief time when people were just fed up with listening to Paul Kimmage. I’m quite emotional today.

I imagine the why not is Bruyneel who Armstrong is still close to and would be major collateral damage in the scorched earth scenario. But still, I doubt there’s any way Bruyneel comes out well regardless given he’s already been sacked from RadioShack, just a case of how much don’t we know yet. I’m all for a lynching though.

A full and frank account of the doping of Ferrari and an explanation of the blood doping scene from 1990-1998. Indurain, Ugrumov, Berzin etc, all their DS’. I’d love him to mention how the drugs scene eventually killed his contemparary Frank VDB and maybe even Jimenez.

A mention of the blood transfusions used by the US team in the 84 Olympics.

A full account of the corruption of the UCI.

And a load of other stuff I’m not bothered typing any further

I would add to that a grovelling apology to his team mates that he forced to dope putting their health, never mind their careers at risk.
