Laochra Gael - Back, and to the left hand on top

Finally

True that, a bunch of company men with all the charisma and wit of a dose of the shits
An hour of looking at Donaghy with sporadic injections of him braying like an ass…
Don’t get me started with Brady… Grrrrrr…

The format is done, we’re out of Laochs and are now on the search for “Characters” with a few insights into the game in their time, embellished with a few live anecdotes.
First up for this new series, from Roscommon… It’s Frankie Dolan… :pint:

2002 was a grand year for nudity in the GAA. There was the Roscommon team which played a game of naked pool in some hotel on a weekend away and flooded the table, the Donegal team who got mouldy drunk after drawing against Dublin and ended up drunkenly skinny dipping in the nude off some beach up there, before proceeding to lose the replay by 11 points, and the couple who bunked into Croke Park one night before bonking away on the pitch.

The Celtic Tiger was real and it wore no clothes.

Thought That gizzy Lyng laochra gael episode was excellent… Have to admire a lad like that who has reinvented himself… George o Connor and quigley spoke very well too…

That he is. And until he starts learning that the stations name is TG4 and not TNAG they’ll never give him his dues.

Is there a repeat on over the weekend? Missed it last night.

You can watch it on the TG4 player

They could make a cartoon.

Just watched it there, brilliant episode of it. Have a feeling Cian Lynch could go down that path aswell.

The Dow is a certainty c2030 if we survive this

A come-back from a career ending knee injury combined with shaking off the coronavirus would make good tv.

Gizzy seems like a decent sort and I’d forgotten how good he was. That was some scutter he was talking about the ash trees though.

I also forgot how good he was… Seems very content in his life whatever his views… He’s stole a march on us with the foraging for food too when we’re all at it in a few weeks … Disappointing not to see @Bandage or the rest do the Wexicans piling in here to commend him on being part of a great laochra gael show…

I missed it the twice it was on. I must look out for a repeat. I remember him being jeered by Wexford fans when he made his debut. He soldiered through some fairly piss poor years as well.

his brother Ciaran was a decent footballer

I had never twigged them as brothers.

I believe they are. Ciaran was a serious forward in footie, think he was a decent club hurler too

You sly divil trying to draw me out by tagging me, cumspot.

I haven’t seen the episode and nor do I have any interest in seeing it.
