Most lads are in the corner as they are not quick enough

Newsflash: wind blows

Newsflash wind can also be wet due to rain

is that not rain?

Thought wooly looked a bit like ciaran mcgeeney in that programme…

Correct. However rain is often accompanied by a lot of wind, a bit like the posts of a lot of lads here.

Unfortunately neither do I. An accurate place ball kicker and a reasonable finisher but lacked the vital yard of pace and was, sadly, a tad one-footed.
Doesn’t take from the fact that he seems to be “a quare nice fella” who talks a good story.

He was an intelligent player , stylish, rarely wasted a ball , reasonable finisher from play good on the frees but wouldn’t make the top 6 in that period for Kerry.

maybe my 2nd string he might Liam Hassett, Sean O’Shea, Maurice Fitz, Mike Frank, Dara OCinneide, James O’Donoghue

I thought this thread was relevant.

I respect your opinion but we’re down to the scratching level now. There’s no doubt that Maurice Fitzgerald was a great but doesn’t fit the criteria. We’ve already included J O’D.
Young O’Shea is that, young. Mike Frank had his moments but Hasset is an absolute outlier.

Donaghy would have to be full forward in any Kerry six of the last 20 years, nothing fancy but fantastic pair of hands, unbelievable vision and made the forwards around him look good and also had some serious longevity. He single handedly ended the blanket defence.
Cooper is a cert also, as is Declan O’Sullivan who’d be my first pick of any of them.

After that you have O’Donoghue, Clifford, Mike Frank, Crowley, Geaney etc for the last spot in the FF line. Some choice. I’d go with Mike Frank I think. Cinnéide was a fine footballer but he’s not better than any of the above IMO.

Half forward either side of O’Sullivan you have Galvin, Walsh, Darran O’Sullivan, Sheehan, O’Brien, O’Shea and probably loads I’m forgetting

I’d go

Galvin, O’Sullivan, O’Sullivan
Cooper, Donaghy, Mike Frank

I’m ruling out Maurice Fitz as he was nearing the end.

Darran O Sullivan?!

:grinning:Maybe for cunt of the year

I’m holding off because I hope he might mean Sean O Sullivan.

Ah here, Mike Frank!!!
Galvin is the first in my list, Declan O’S is a certainty, Goich would be in there, the rest are tough but Mike Frank isn’t on the shortlist

Combined Dublin and Kerry forwards from the same era?

I’d go with the four obvious from there anyway.

Geaney instead of Mike Frank.

Not sure about Darren.

Donaghy was a class act. One of the greats in my opinion.
