Last Night of the Proms

We’re coming towards the denouement folks. Rule Britannia just concluding now.

Nothing can ever match last year’s Last Night of the Brexit Proms.

Pretty sickening to see all these European Union flags.

There was plenty of them last year too

Don’t ruin my narrative.

It’s not a narrative I care for. The last night of the proms has always been wonderfully paradoxically both jingoistic and cosmopolitan.

Poor joke by our conductor there.

“I’m the conductor. So where’s your bus?”

“Tickets, please” would have been much better.

Somebody as English as Albert would have turned in his grave at there being a German conductor in the hall that bears his name.

Jingopolitan?

This is great

I’m assuming @Tassotti is choked with emotion watching this

Highlight of the night on now. The wonderful Jerusalem

Ah no it’s Jerusalem now

Lovely to see a tricolour flag in crowd

Not many Celtic or Fermanagh jerseys at Castle Coole in Enniskillen.

Auld Langs syne. Magical

I’d love to turn up to the live screening in Belfast one of these years with a bottle of Buckfast and wearing an Armagh jersey.

Old Galway jersey quite prominent in the front row there

The other home of Buckfast. Johnny Irishman goes to the Proms.

@flattythehurdler is an ugly looking chap

I think he meant to go for a walk along the seafront in Salthill and ended up in the Albert Hall.

With all the dhrinkin’, these Galway lads haven’t a clue where they are this week.
