The sink is full of fishes
She got dirty dishes
On the braaaaiiinnnn
During the 90s Iâd have given Blur the nod and would have been a bigger Blur fan in the 2 decades after⌠But in the last few year I am returning to Oasis more and more. Liam Gallagher was something else.
I genuinely thought oasis were a comedy act for their first couple of years, their lyrics are like something a five year old would writeâŚ
Whatever is the greatest song of all time
The phrase âworking class heroesâ was invented for oasis in fairness. Struggling to think of anyone else who comes close really.
Lyrics are shite, tunes are a bit samey but the songs just âconnectedâ with millions of people like no other band ever. Youâd have to be in the crowd at one of their gigs or liam and noels ones in recent years to get. It seems simple but no one else has done it. Theyâre the This Means More, Tell Us Never, Alan White is like a new signing of music.
Fuck off Arthur
Always seems to me
You only see what people want you to see
Thatâs no way to speak to one of your aliases
How longâs it gonna be
Before we get on the bus and cause no fuss
Get a grip on yourself, it donât cost much
I saw Oasis in 1997, around their peak popularity. My friend saw them six times in a month. 3 gigs at Earls Court. 3 at Wembley Arena.
Itâs uncanny how Oasisâs first three albums mirrored the three series of Father Ted.
Each Father Ted series came out around 6-8 months after an Oasis album. The first one was fresh, edgy and exciting. The second one was the peak. The third one was bloated, tired and fairly shit.
They couldnât hack America, the acid test for any band.
Whatever you do, whatever you say
I know itâs alright
A great Top of the Pops band.
Hey, listen up man, they donât even know youâre born
The kind of band the red tops could really get behind
Oasis symbolized Cool Britannia
All your dreams are made when youâre chained to the mirror and the razor blade.
