Galway team selection was shambolic. At least half a dozen players totally out of position.
Whatever about the ref the Limerick manager will be castigated
It would be a bigger shock if Wexford win next one. Dublin havenât a bad record against Galway, Galway had one great win in the league and were being talked up as usual.
It appears Shane is too smart for his own good or he just wasnât paying Dublin any respect.
Congratulations @binkybarnes @Bisto and all the Dublin brigade. The margin flattered Galway. A fine Dublin performance.
Deeply disappointing Galway performance. Lackadaisical from the throw in.
Joe Canning firstly has had a good ten minute cameo in midfield against Limerick, and has been dreadful in there otherwise. A dog with a mallet up his hole could see that he is simply not a starting midfielder. I also think heâs been getting flakier on frees for a while. Niland is a better free taker. The only single encouraging thing was SON had the stones to take him off the frees. He had one eye on the record from the start consciously or not.
Anyhow, very very hard to see a way back.
I thought Antrim were a good side.
Dublin shot the lights out, but also defended well and bravely.
Our crassness and arrogance in not taking a few easy points to get the nose in front allowed Dublin to absolutely dictate the entire game. They did this excellently. Well done to them.
Ref was good I thought.
Very gracious Flatty.
Who the fuck is that gimp with Nash?
True. Just true.
I have a feeling it was Joe himself gave Niland the nod when he missed the last one. Going for goals from the off showed their heads werent right. A run through the back door isnât gave them the kick up the arse. Still big chance for them
Just looking it up there:
Thereâs a preliminary round qualifier between Antrim and Laois. The winner of this goes into Round 1.
Round 1 is made up of two ties. One has to involve Waterford.
One each of the losing Munster and Leinster semi-finalists make up the other two of the four teams involved in Round 1.
The other two get a bye to Round 2, where they meet the Round 1 winners in two ties.
The winners of these progress to the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
Waterford, Galway, Tipp, Cork and possibly Kilkenny all in the qualifiers will throw up some nice ties
Waterford would beat Galway if they draw each other. That was salthill v Wexford standard from them today. Shocking
I think so. Waterford at least showed a bit of fight in the late stages of their defeat to Clare which makes you think they might have something in them yet in this championship.
Nah, Galway are a team that can reach peaks not many can, but theyâll always put their foot in a bucket. They donât have it in them to win five tough big games in a row
Was Galway going for goals from half chances early doors and kinda trying to bury Dublin a bit disrespectful? Not sure, but it maybe signalled some complacency too. It can be hard to turn that mindset around if itâs infected the team.
2 dispossessions within about 20 seconds by Tj there
Not sure disrespectful is exactly the word, but they wouldnât have done it against Limerick or KK or Tipp
Clear pull on the Hurley there. Should have been a free in
Actually maybe not on second viewing
Well deserved win by Dublin, Mattie had them well prepared and got the tactics and match ups generally right. Other than Whelan our front 8 were atrocious.
