Well none of those sides will be winning an AI, brutal.
That was far too easy, had the feel of a league match
12 points in 65 mins plus injury time for Wexford. Abysmal.
Galway cantered home nowhere near their best. A terrible game overall. Not sure there has ever been an entertaining Galway v Wexford match.
Ya not great stuff. Galway were pretty poor truth be told. Wexford looked every bit as bad as they did in the league. Dublin or Antrim might fancy clipping them.
Niland MOTM but youâd worry about him v any top 5 side. Monaghan must have hit 5 wides. Canât rely on Cooney either.
Glennon has come on again.
They have size though so should compete with the limericks.
Nilandâs best performance in a Gaillimh jersey.
Exactly this, but my days we needed a win there. Hickey is an excellent analyst.
Wexford were really surprisingly poor.
Odd game. Enjoyed it until it petered out.
Wexford will win nothing with that kit. Looks like a training top.
Killeen is injured.
His oul fella was an outstanding soccer player, one of the very best in Galway, so Iâd imagine he will be very good.
A lot of pulling & dragging and little else out of them. I donât know whether they are poorly coached or just donât have the hurlers.
I know he was injured today but Iâm talking about down the line. Has way more hurling than Fintan Burke wouldnât be have the same physical presence and there may be question marks over the defensive side of his game at this point. But still very young obviously.
Poorly coached/managed surely. Theyâve gone back some distance. They were a great side a few short years back. Look like 15 lads who met on the bus
Hard to find fault with the Galway back 6 today tbh apart from the first 5 minutes.
I didnât think Niland was capable of that level of performance at any game. Heâs a lovely striker, we all knew that but he actually worked very hard today and won some difficult ball. Movement inside from him was better too.
I would consider that a very encouraging performance from him if I was a Galway supporter. He doesnât need to score that amount every, he just needs to be a viable threat to worry a corner-back about giving him space and be able to make the ball stick inside.
They were strong today but if you did want to push Cooney up to midfield for a bit more physicality there, then youâd need to find one more player. I can see the benefits of Cooney facing the ball too though, a big man, nice strike of the ball.
Monahan & Glennon are both nice hurlers but were horsed out of it at times in the scraps for ball. Both operate better in the open spaces.
Theyâre filling out I think. Niland has bulked up without losing anything much. Couple of goal chances spurned for points, but. Delighted to win that. Everyone gave absolutely 100%. Thereâs no team like Galway to get distracted when theyâre winning well all the same, but not as bad as sometimes.
I canât say how crucial KH has been. I thought we were fcuked utterly for a decade. Heâs been absolutely fantastic.
Looking forward to Cavan Armagh now too.
Hard to judge us based on that but there is a bit of depth emerging at least.
Disappointing enough crowd tbh.
The heads didnât drop after conceding the two goals and they played for the 70+ minutes, plenty to improve on.
Does Niland have a brother with the minors? Meant to be a serious prospect?
Where did you hear that?
