Leinster Senior Hurling Championship 2026

I can’t understand why so many refs are getting the black card rule so wrong.

You wouldn’t see a doing like that on Tattle

Well done to all the Galway tfk posters here even @maroonandwhite! Galway were excellent in fairness. We were in a good position at half time but we were a shambles in the second half. Rucks often tell the tale of a game. Galway battered us in the rucks after we did the same to Kilkenny 2 weeks ago. Two steps forward and one step back for Dublin again.

Dublin hurling has a wonderful sense of knowing its place.

I fancied Galway to win today, but I didn’t think there would be much in it. That was a poor performance from Dublin. Croke Park tends to show up ageing legs and the veterans in the Dublin backline weren’t exposed in the tighter confines of Parnell Park and provincial grounds like they were today. Dublin were far too one dimensional. Route 1 to Hetherton and Ronan Hayes just wasnt working and there was no Plan B.

Galway will have a big say in how the season unfolds yet.

Its easy…a rule that cannot be applied against some teams.

A poor performance from Dublin

Ack to the drawing board

Shown up to be too one dimensional

Murdered on the deck tonight

Well done, Galway - they had a plan and exercised it efficiently

Thanks pal

Regardless of the scoreboard, being forced to lamp the ball 90 metres into the square when you have an extra man is a serious psychological defeat. The Jim Telfer speech came to mind. Galway’s tackling broke Dublin’s running game between the 45s and by the end they were simply sick of it. Leathering the ball as far as they could rather than endure another miscontrolled pass to their feet.

I could never understand when Galway would play an all timer full back at number 6. trying to be way too clever

I thought it was a blatant black card. utterly cynical tackle to stop a goal scoring opportunity. Whelan practically rugby tackled him! it’s exactly what the rule was brought in for.

the refs are not getting the black card wrong. hurling fans don’t know the rule/never want it enforced.

He looked a brilliant player a few years ago when he broke on the scene. You wouldn’t want Galway now, those forwards are very good.

Losing to 14 man Dublin, how did that happen

It’s the one and only blot on their resume, died in their boots every other day. It might be the best thing that happens them in ways in terms of keeping the show on the road

Cheers boss. I genuinely thought ye were in with a great shout, but I was astounded at ye tactically today, bizzare.

In some cases yes, in others no, there has definitely been instances this year of forwards instigating the contact and going to ground knowing the black card is more in the equation.

Agreed. was it the Galway Wexford game where the black cards seemed like strange decisions?

Duignan definitely played for it in Offaly v Wexford.

I was fucking perished in the Upper Cusack tonight. Absolutely Baltic up there.
