Once upon a time the Leinster schools game was beloved of the purists and romantics of the game for its free spirited running style. But now it has become infested with all of the elements that render the professional game so humdrum. Choke tackles, rolling mauls, one out passing, pods, box kicking. Sad really but you can see why this style is so valuable to the Leinster branch.
That post could be easily applied to Waterford hurling with a little bit of tweeking .

Nonsense. The artificial pitch at Donnybrook has improved the standard leaps and bounds.
In the old days the team with the biggest pack would have bludgeoned their way to victory on a mudbath.
This new pitch has made schools rugby more expansive and better to watch and is also producing more all-round players.
