Leitrim Football 2013

Emlyn Mulligan will captain the side in 2013 - let’s hope he’s giving a speech in the Hyde on 21st July

Is Leitrim a real place?

Careful now.
Good call from the management

Appetite for County football has re-energised the oft-maligned, but forever un-yielding and occasionally magnificent Barry Prior…
Gary Reynolds has also made himself available along with Ronan Gallagher causing a quandry in defensive selection for the Management.

Emlyn Mulligan (rightfully) has been handed the captaincy and Cian Reynolds (he of Ballyduff origin) has joined the squad,**

It’s a way to go to Gaelic Park yet, ne’re mind The Hyde but (given all going well, injury free and committment) we’ll look like this:

Cathal McCrann.

Alan Wynne.
Ronan Gallagher.
Paddy Maguire.

Gary Reynolds.
Enda Williams.
Barry Prior.

Shane Moran.
Tómas Beirne.

Brian McDonald.
Emlyn Mulligan.
Wayne McKeon.

Adrian Croal.
Conor Beirne.
James Glancy.

In the frame: Ciaran Egan, Daniel Beck, Robbie Lowe, Paul Brennan, Darren Sweeney, David Wrynne, Fabian McMorrow and 3 Springers.
I’m allowing an inter-change between Wayne Mac and Barry Prior (either can do the alternate job)…

**Jury out as yet.

Is Mossy Beirne back Boxty?

I like the look of that team.

Great to see young gallagher back i think hes a fine fullback,he done well when moved to midfield against the rossies in his last game, did he play sunday boxty

+1

Id swap reynolds and maguire he a great man to get forward like mckeown

No solid affirmation on Mossy yet Farmer but he’s back with the panel, doubtless doing an “induction programme” given that he has a bit to do. He’s “up for it” as per a County Board official n the confines of the Dark Hole in Glebe St. on New Year’s Day… :pint:

Gallagher, along with Barry Prior and Gary Reynolds, will all make returns in the coming weeks. We’re done with the Mickey Moran type shit of playing stúmours in meaningless games. Working with 23/26. I’m Bullish…

We’re looking a bit spoiled for backs at the moment. Parochially, I’m expecting David Wrynne to feature between now and May and he’s a serious bit of stuff, even at 19. He’s ideally suited, physically and temprementally having experienced previous finals.
Would any of them be suited to midfield boxty

Listening to Saturday’s Panel on Newstalk on the way to work this morning, worth a listen for any Leitrim fan no doubt.

What’s it about MBB ?

Putting Leitrim into a B All Ireland, or just amalgamating them with Longford and being done with them.

One of these counties beat Laois in last year’s Championship and the other ran them very close. If we are starting to look at amalgamating counties then Laois and Carlow would be a good start.

Why would you amalgamate a County that beaten the other county first and ran the reigning all ireland champions very close? that makes no sense whatsoever

MBB well and truly clamped

FFS Farmer did I for one moment suggest I agreed with it? What a childish response.

Plans are afoot in Laois for some time btw to invade Carlow and be done with it btw. The IT is the forward prong of the attack, Graiguecullen the secondary force.

According to the Observer, Tomas Beirne is ‘unable to commit to the panel for the year ahead’. That’s a blow - we could do with him in midfield.
