Leitrim Football 2018

Laois must have went too sleep for the last 20 minutes?Benny and Seamus need to be relieved of their duties.Only for the free trip to NYC I’d say we’d be gone the way of kilkenny at this stage.

Darragh Rooney scored 2-01 on introduction in the second half.

Surely he should have started? One of our best players. Unless there was an injury or something.

He’s got a good eye for goal.Getting the ball into himself and o rourke is the problem.

We need some element of creativity though.

I am nearly sure Rooney has played centre field for Melvin Gaels although as you said he has an eye for goal so is badly required inside.

Jamie Clarke has joined up with New York and is in line to play against Leitrim on the May bank holiday weekend.

We’re “going for it” tomorrow lads :ronnyroar:

Letting a team ‘go for it’ is a refreshing statement in the GAA these days, but those are the sentiments of Leitrim manager Brendan Guckian ahead of their clash against Carlow at the weekend.

Guckian let his charges off the leash so to speak in the last few minutes of their defeat to Laois last Sunday and the Connacht side scored an impressive 3-04 during the period.

That phase brought them right back into the match and unsettled Laois who up to then had been cruising to victory, but they ultimately held on for a six-point win.

And Guckian told the Leitrim Observer that they need to throw caution to the wind against Carlow at Netwatch Cullen Park on Saturday evening.

“We obviously have to go at Carlow, again maybe throw off the shackles and go at them and see what happens,” stated the Leitrim manager.

“The last two games have obviously been difficult and we played the best two teams in the Division. We improved from the Antrim game and obviously we’d be hoping that we improve again for next Saturday.”

That’s that then.

:grinning:

Okay lads, start playing better now.

We improved - the cunt is deluded. After conceding 15 points we then conceded 3 - 16 to the worst Laois team of all time.

We’re going for it all right. He hasn’t a clue the daft bollocks.

It’s no wonder they are conceding big scores and they playing in shackles

I think we’re going to win tomorrow lads.NY will still beat us though
