Leitrim Football 2019

7 applicants for the vacant hurling manager gig. Cork, Limerick, Dublin and 1 local amongst the candidates.

Interviews currently taking place. White smoke…God knows.

It could be a head to head between Tom Ryan and Kev…

We failed to retain the Referee of the year award we won last year via Patrick Guckian.
Ballinamore’s probably objected after the Co.final altercation. We collect the junior clubman award however. The 2 senior footballer awards are probably spot on - Mark Plunkett the only serious challenge to Shane Moran. He’s come good eventually.

He was good last year alright apart from the county final.

What was the conclusion on that sending off anyway?

Warranted? Or do we know?

Dom Corrigan, with his cheque from SOH in his back pocket, fairly threw Guckian under the bus anyway.

Feely threw 2 quick thumps on the sideline just as the fracas was beginning. The linesman cooled the situation (eventually) before confirming to Patrick that it was a straight red - striking with the fist.
Patrick duly sent him off. There was no option in reality, Patrick’s natural abrasive attitude isn’t dimmed in the slightest, linesmen with good eyesight and matching balls are fairly scarce.
Fuck Dominic Corrigan the mercenary hound.

It was handbags really and I thought harsh enough, but it was fairly stupid to do it in front of the linesman. If SOH have any bit of bottle about them they’ll come back stronger and hungrier next year, nothing like a team feeling hard done by to get you going. Will the have the € for Dom next year @anon67715551?

They have the € for sure but Dom’s long departed with bank balance enhanced. Joe Honeyman is mentioned as the front runner for the Bainestóir gig for 2020 but I’d imagine they’re sussing out who’s available or interested.

Dom didn’t hang around too long,he obviously got something better did he?

An so it pans out. Enda takes the hot seat for 2020. Comhgairdeas @farmerinthecity, your own clubman in the hot-seat. It’s a no-lose situation going forward. We’ve a battle to stay in D3 but if we could survive 2020 there we’ll establish a foothold. The finances are in good health and we have a terrific crop of young eager lads.
The Championship looks a minefield but we’ll have to take each outing as they come.
There’s causes for optimism. Líatroim abú.

A bit of a blow there @Massey?

Hopefully Ward will take the reins on his own.Tbf they got the maximum they could out ofthe lads this year. They put all their effort into the championship and it paid off nicely. It will be a blow if he leaves alright as we can replace Fox alright

Ward is off to manage Garrison.Pat Gilmartain,Darren Sweeney,Young Croal and James Glancy are all retiring.Fox has cattle to feed and headstones to put up.

They’ll be big losses in fairness as all 4 have given nothing short of outstanding service.

Of the quartet Pat Gilmartin’s contribution has been vastly under-rated, he’s been a solid collossus at the edge of the square for nearly 20years. No bad streak in him either.

That little eulogy isn’t to take from the other 3 who’ve given tremendous service.
The best of luck to them all.

Yeah i always thought pat was underrated alright. A very tidy footballer. He actually scored a beautiful point in the final this year.

I was being slightly selfish. Promotion, div 4 final in HQ.Lory Meagher win.First ever penalty shootout in Gaa.Obviously getting hammered in the hyde was a low point (its a long drive from limerick to roscommon and worse goin home after a big hammering)but Winning the senior and Junior A made up for it.Liatroim Abu.
