Leitrim GAA 2020

From the Mayo team named I think they would have 7 Championship debutants Mullen ,McLoughlin, Walsh ,O’Donohue ,Flynn, Conroy, Brickenden

Evan and Beirne will play up front with Conor Dolan and A/N other on the 40 with everyone else behind.Terry is afraid of goals, but where will our scores come from?

Terry’s position is looking untenable. He has that Cavan mentality - give nothing away. That selection looks like he picked 15 from 18 available.
I wonder would Suarez answer the call to provide scores…Yeah!!

He did similar shiteaboutry with the team before the Roscommon match last year.

True.

We might get John Mckeown back too he’d keep AOS fairly quiet. It’d free up Donal.Anybody know what players aren’t available

It’s difficult to answer that in fairness as you don’t know who would have been on the teamsheet everything being normal. Shane Moran is the stick out who’d have started were we picking from a full squad. Hard to fathom Hyland at times, as Farmer said above he pulled the pin last year with the grenade still in his pocket. Terrible poor management.

I’m just hoping he’s playing rope a dope here and he has a full squad to pick from

What tactics did Terry use against Mayo in the FBD game last year.Conditions will be much the same this weekend with plenty of rain tomorrow. Are we just goin to run at Mayo,if so will our lads be fit enough for that?

Is Shane Moran injured? I remember the game in the hyde last year and I felt he caused us all sorts of problems at full forward. Was very impressed with him that day.

He was playing midfield all year, don’t know if he’s injured or has covid

Aw ok jesus another massive loss in my opinion anyway ye would know the players better than me In what is an up hill task anyway. Ye could have done without missing some of your better players.

The harsh truth is that Plunkett, Maguire, Moran and O’Rourke are the only 4 we have who’d get on the Dublin teams of the last few years.
Moran is unavailable (based in Cork), O’Rourke is injured, Plunkett is recovering from a broken hand sustained earlier in the summer and our stand out defender, Maguire, is sited (as per selection) at c/h/f…Would you be well…

My resolute belief is starting to wane. Hyland’s natural pessimism is getting to me.

Maguire must be goin to mark Paddy Durkan or Keegan

How old would Paddy be now? He seems to be around for a long time.

Paddy Maguire is 30 going off an article from him joining st Brigids when I googled him. If its paddy durkan your on about hes 26ish

Yeah early 30’s.Hes some player to be fair.

Ok guys, I’ve held my counsel long enough on Terry.

Lay off the man. He is doing a terrific job in my opinion. He got us promoted. He gave us a day out in Croke Park. Lady luck deserted him in that Cork and Down came down from Div 2 at the same time. Limerick and Wicklow are up this year with Fermanagh and Cavan coming down. A big difference imo.

We drew with Derry in a game we should have won.

I was at the Offaly game. Nothing between the sides but Leitrim getting on top when Shane Quinn gets stupidly sent off. Offaly end up winning well.

Those fine lines are why we went down imo and I wouldn’t be laying any of the blame at Terry’s door.

I didn’t see much negativity from Terry in his interview with Breifne after the Tipp game. He said success for Leitrim tomorrow would be winning the game. We all know that isn’t going to happen. That’s not me being negative - I’m being realistic.

The league is our championship. We are a world away from Mayo, Galway and Roscommon at this moment in time.

I’d be very confident about getting promoted next year and the job then is to stay in Div 3.

Hopefully it won’t be too far down the line that we will be competitive in Connacht again. The mid 90s were great days.

Head up, chest out tomorrow men. We won’t win but they’ll do their best.

Anyway, rant over.
