Fuckin disaster. Terry’s goose is cooked. The cycle goes on.
Christ almighty.
From looking like we were goin to run away with it to total collapse ffs
From the John Morrison school of blaming everyone else.
I think he’s right but we just don’t have enough quality senior teams.2 group’s of 4 with top 2 going through to semi finals would get rid of a lot of the dead rubber games. We can’t keep blaming the managers, they can’t all be wrong.Longford Fermanagh Roscommon Monaghan all have small playing populations and they are competitive.
Longford are the blueprint I think. Don’t know when they were last in Division 4 - although it’s not looking good this year. Their clubs are very competitive in the provincials.
But Hyland can’t be passing the buck,
I’d agree with that, they were competitive enough for him 2 years ago.Apart from Maguire they’ve a great age profile, but who will want to take over a struggling Div 4 team
Unless we’re playing against a gale that’s not good
We’re you expecting something different? I wasn’t. We’re done with the current set-up.
You could start a thread “Next Leitrim Manager”
The bottom line is this… The best crop of lads we’ve had in 20 years have had the potential and confidence knocked out of them.
We’re absolute dog shit, getting hammered by 14 men at the minute,I’m away I’ve silage to do
Antrim 2-17 Leitrim 1-19
It looks like we made a bit of a comeback.
Look at the table lad, we’ve shipped 2-19, 0-19 and 2-17 in the past 3 weeks. These are alarming figures from a so called golden crop of young prodigees. For 40 years we’re bereft of forwards and now that we have them we’ve no backs. It doesn’t help that the manager is trying to crowbar lads into the back 6 who aren’t, apart from Paddy Maguire, natural defenders. It’s time for the old Boxty remedy - country backs for sores and townie forwards for scores.
Somebody should write a song along those lines. For years we couldn’t score more than 11 or 12 pts now we’re racking up decent scores we’re conceding 20/25 pts a game.Whats the plan @anon67715551,the Mayo lads will ate us.
“The plan” …There’s no plan, there never was a plan nor will there be.
We’ll spoof along till the championship, fortified by snippets of “flying in training, working hard, no reason to fear XXXX, lads well up for the battle etc.” the same oul’ shite we swallow every year.
The league has been an unmitigated disaster and has been poorly managed from a PR point of view.
I was wondering where McWeeney and O Donnell had gone
I was just thinking there about our previous managers.
Dessie Dolan senior stands out by a mile. I think our league position wasn’t bad but we beat Sligo, were narrowly beaten by the likes of Galway and Mayo and took the likes of Meath and Donegal to the pin of their collar in the qualifiers. We looked absolutely competitive in each match we played.
We had the famed full back line but other than that I think we are better now. Perhaps the gap between the bigger and smaller teams has got much bigger.
Jesus we could do with them now.We bate Sligo under Mickey Moran in the early teens.
We did. Conor Beirne at 19 years of age got the winning goal.
Roscommon hammered us then the next day out. I watched it in an Irish Centre in Newcastle on a stag.
