The Willies were beaten by Maryās after a good start. Barry Prior at 3 and Morgan Quinn at 8 tells its own storyā¦They have 2 difficult ties ahead.
Iāve a bit of a soft spot for them, a couple of cousins of mine married in there and Iāve always enjoyed weddings, wakes and funerals with them. Super footballer and a grand personable lad but itās 2026 and heās entitled to maximise his talent to the fullest. A big loss if he goes, but I for one wouldnāt begrudge him a contract were he to secure one.

I have been saying it for years - where is the carrot for playing for Leitrim in terms of commitment?
His performance against Mayo in Connacht 2025 was the best I have ever seen from a Leitrim footballer probably.
He was practically a one man team against what is now the All Ireland champions (still feels weird to say that).
He certainly wont be maximising his talent playing that muck. If it wasnāt professional nobody would play it.

Barry must be finished 3rd level by now so I suppose itās an opportunity to see what the AFL offers. One thing you can chalk down is the fact weāre unlikely to win a Connacht final in the near future without him.
