Rory is correct here. A very brave and mature decision. An Olympics should be the pinnacle of a sportsmans career and the truth here is that the Olympics wouldnt even make the top 3 events in the month of August for any golfer worth their salt. Many more golfers will now pull out.
Add to that if he represented 32 county ireland he would just antagonize all those frothing mouthed imbeciles from the south who cant accept anyone but a rastooler representing them (ie that moron paddy barnes) while if he doesnt represent them he gets the same reaction anyway.
He has a beautiful young fiance now and obviously would like to breed an heir and anyone in that position would want their heads examined going to Rio.
