Let's All Laugh At Sevco Thread

I so want that to be true

It would indeed be class. They make such a play of inviting them to games and parading them around at half time and stuff.

Actually the fact they haven’t been paying their taxes since last year surely means they should take the blame for every British soldier death in Afghanistan since then. :o

Aiden McGeady with some choice words:

"You don’t want to see it happen to anyone. It’s really a difficult situation to be in for the players who are earning their wages.

"But it’s just the way football goes sometimes. To be honest, it’s not got much to do with Celtic.

"Obviously people are saying they would miss Celtic versus Rangers games, but it’s really their own fault for over-paying players’ wages 10, 15 years ago and not paying taxes on them.

“That’s the way it goes, it comes back to haunt you later on in football.”

“Celtic have been flying, unbeaten in 19, 20 games and with Rangers falling apart at the minute, if you are a Celtic fan, it’s looking quite good,” he said.

“Celtic are still in three competitions, looking like we are going to win the league, the Scottish Cup and the League Cup as well, so everything is looking rosy at Celtic Park at the minute.”

I hope we will see this bhoy in a Celtic shirt again.

Good call from Clyde this evening:

Great words from the great Aiden McGeady. Nice use of ‘we’ when talking about Celtic too. Bring him home please. :ireland:

Was about to post the same thing. Aiden’s a wonderful man.

We are the people. Love it.
That is tremendous!

Getting out of Glasgow was the best thing he ever did. I expect him to rock up to Sunderland in the summer. Think he would be more suited to a reasonable side in the Bundesliga rather than a EPL side based more on grunt

I also see the huns got a 50k fine today for not disclosing Whyte’s previous disqualification to the stock exchange!

I think that could be significant in the long run. If they didn’t make similar disclosures to the SFA then they could find themselves in more bother with the league - if they can’t find a way around punishing them.

It’s not looking good for them at all, when is the verdict with HMRC going to come about? Even with the sale of their best players - Davis, McGregor, Whittaker, Lafferty, Naismith, Goian - with the current perdicament they are in you’d struggle to see them get a collective fee of £15m plus.

I was discussing this with the poster Rocko offline today and we were laughing that everything that’s been speculated about Whyte since last summer and all the supposed dodgy dealings and complete roguery (no matter how seemingly far fetched) has been true and then some more besides too.

The big house must stay open!

The Daily Record are bumping their gums this morning about Celtic refusing to pay the huns £300k up front for our ticket allocation for Ibrox next month. They say that this will likely cost people their jobs. They have some fucking cheek to try and pin the blame on Celtic when it’s the huns who indulged in improprieties and have only themselves to blame for their current situation. Little is said about the 800k the huns owe Hearts who are also in financial difficulty. Yet they were going to sign a player for 5k a week only a fortnight ago.

Ally McCoist confirmed today that the huns kept the proceeds from a charity match against Milan recently. This is being promoted as a generous gesture from the charities to help the club.

RANGERS have today confirmed the glamour legends friendly with AC Milan Glorie at Ibrox on Friday 30 March 2012 will go ahead with revenue from the match being split between the club, the Rangers Charity Foundation and the AC Milan Foundation.
The Rangers Charity Foundation has offered to forego the majority of its share of the proceeds following the crucial support the charity has received from the club over the last 10 years and funds raised will help secure the future of the Rangers, which is vital at this time.
Tickets are on sale now to season ticket holders with public sale to follow on Monday.

I love their use of ‘the’ Rangers.

So Whyte used fans’ season ticket money to pay off the Lloyd’s bank debt but literally had fuck all money to fund the day to day running of the club. Hence they didn’t pay any tax from the date of the takeover up to now, why they owe other clubs money relating to player purchases, share of ticket sale proceeds etc yet they’d still been putting in bids for players and even signing some and agreeing payment plans that they didn’t have any realistic way of complying with (e.g. Lee Wallace deal). That’s probably why they wanted that £300k in advance from Celtic - so they could use it in January as a down payment on a signing or to pay a loan fee to sign a player for the rest of the season or something. Celtic were obviously well within their rights to tell them to piss off.

I’ve been getting a bit of enjoyment out of reading some hun forum content (Follow Follow) since they went into administration. A couple of good ones today:

 • A hun reckons they can pay off their current tax bill and the imminent tax penalty for the EBT charade if 250,000 of them pay £200 upfront to attend a ‘Rangers Festival’ that would be like Glastonbury or something, except they’d all camp out in a huge field somewhere and great Rangers matches would be shown on big screens and Rangers legends would do Q&A sessions on stage and tell old dressing room tales and bands would give their free time to sing Rangers songs to the adoring fans. 250,000 x 200 = £50m. What a wonderful event that would be.

 • There’s a big discussion ongoing about Jose Mourinho coming back to Britain to rebuild the club too and they’re seriously contemplating the prospect. He loves British football and the British way of life and ‘the’ Rangers are quintessentially British. He loves Chelsea (whose support get on well with Rangers). Rangers are a world famous club, the likes of which he’d want to manage. He’d only consider a club like the Rangers who wouldn’t be a step down from Real Madrid. It would be the ultimate test of himself and successfully doing the job would firmly prove he is the special one after all. He’s already defeated Celtic in a big final and would revel in sorting them out again. There’s a fair few that have convinced themselves it’s going to happen.
