The huns were woeful there. Hagi and Raskin were particularly wasteful when they were pushing for a winner.
Van Bronckhorst & Beales were sacked in October/November time when they were in stronger positions than they are now with Clement. There is open mutiny in their support & no backing for Clement to stay as far as I can see - they view him as a dead man walking. I guess it’s then a case of what do a broke & badly run club do? Pluck someone else from Europe, go for an experienced manager who’s a “Rangers man” like McInnes or something else. Giving Clement a contract extension last summer was odd given their league collapse & cup final loss.
Compared to Beale and van bronckhorst reign Think there’s way more of an acceptance that the squad is “in transition” (shit) and there’s fcuk all money. I’d say in the boardroom they’re probably happy to have Clement rolled out in front of camera to speak madness into the mic and act as some sort of distraction
Apparently Clement had resigned last summer as there were promises made about transfer money by the board that were clearly not going to happen. The board panicked about what the reaction from supporters would be and so got him to stay on with the new contract - and now can’t afford to remove him. At some point though the empty stands must be a bigger financial hit than any pay-off for him.

Muscat will be next up I’d imagine. They’ll have to pay out Clement’s package though, which will hurt.
I actually think the cupboard is properly bare this time.
I was surprised that they didn’t go for Muscat the first time. He’s a proper sevco manager. I think they thought they were above him. He certainly seemed to take umbrage at having his credentials questioned.
