Not given nearly enough credit for chipps AI performance in 2009 and win in 2010. All the talk was about the great Eamon O’Shea and the revolutionary style he had chipp playing.
About time we had a thread acknowledging Liam Sheedy as the main man behind chipps per decade AI win
I think his two publicity-hungry offspring were the brains of the operation and all three are an insufferable shower of Tipp cunts anyhow. Stick it up yer bollocks.
Or the fact he had lar and Kelly in top form, o’shea doesn’t have the one or two lethal forwards that were there a few years ago.

yeah maybe
but maybe the real acknowledgement of the main role in that victory should be the injuries to Brian Hogan and Henry Shefflin.
I said when he was appointed he was a super coach and player person but nowhere near ruthless enough as a manager. We’re sick hearing re these tipp u21s etc but at the end of the day when it was shit or get off the pot time it was Kelly and lar warming up. He didn’t or doesn’t trust the younger players and after kk last year it was clearly clean out time. He has a hard task ahead and he’s a gent but he’s not the man for this task
+1
And he called the puke a fat headed idiot
I often felt Declan Ryan got too much of a kicking in Tipp. He won 2 munsters with Tipp. He lost one All Ireland final to Kilkenny by five or 6 pts and they were right up there with them at half time last year until things turned completely turk. Now under O’Shea they are not even in the Munster final. Bring back Deccie Ryan!

kieran bergin and jason forde starting his first championship match as manager not signal that he’s willing to trust young/inexperienced players? o’dwyer debuting off the bench (1-3 from 5 possessions) as his first substitute?
Fooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Ramblin’
For Rovin’
For football & hurling
For drinkin’ black porter as fast as you fill
Bubbles is a super player and should have started instead of callinan or Shane Bourke . Bergin is 27 ! Their u21 6 from last year ( name escapes me ) should have started or that Thomas hamill . Bergin is ordinary. And how many times do Paul currans legs have to quiver? Great servant but gone gone gone. You saw cummins for yourself
I did indeed, and won’t quibble with most of it
I’m aware of bergin’s age, hence inexperienced instead of young, but still a debut regardless.
EOS would have had 2 debutants starting, and probably didn’t want to risk more in pivotal jerseys like 1 and 3
He’ll have to look at any jersey with 2 digits now, and probably find another midfield pairing while he’s at it.
McGrath hasn’t been the same player since that viral infection, and in all likelihood that’s not going to change now.
Denis Maher the centre back you’re thinking of? You can’t beat breeding, just ask TAN.
Sheedy was fortunate to win a soft All Ireland against a massively depleted Kilkenny team.
For a man who gave work commitments as a reason for leaving, it certainly is amazing to see that he does have time for TV and for coaching / advising a club in Limerick.
Oh, I wonder what are the true reasons for his leaving

Thrawneen covered this in the first reply to this thread, keep up.
I believe he was a distraught figure in the ardhu after the game yesterday. I’m not sure if this was due to the result of the game or the shortage of cider tho.
The Great Cider Shortage of 2013
Classic Ireland. A bit of snow and we run out of salt for the roads. A bit of sun and we run out of cider.
Tipp took their chance in 2010 unlike Galway who didn’t take our chance last year.
Sheedy played a part in it, so did O’Shea but ultimately it was the players on the day who did it.
Their collars went up, they believed the hype and they lost the work ethic in the years since.
Its now 3 years later, hurling has moved on and 2 of their key players from 2010 are now middle aged men.
Listening to a podcast on 95fm from a show earlier today, and they open up with commentary from the last minute- epic as usual. Couple of Tipp lads on and one is fairly sowing it into the Tipp team, said they haven’t put in any work since winning in 2010 and questioned their bottle big time.

T’was gas, the Tipp lads were going nuts in October 2010 when fellas were saying they would go the way of all the Tipp teams before them. That would believe their own hype and disappear up their own holes.
