Limerick ‘21 v Kilkenny ‘08 - Who are the GOAT?

For fuck sake, only seeing this is an actual thread now??!

That Kilkenny team has no equal and will not unless Limerick win another 3 All Irelands to match their 6 in 7 years.

Limerick are the only threat to their legacy as the greatest ever though. Already above any Tipperary side of recent decades, surpassed the Galway side of the late 80s and the Cork 04-05 side.

Ironically, though Limerick are their greatest threat to the crown of the greatest team of all time, I have seen no begrudgery from Kilkenny based pundits or Kilkenny supporters, only admiration.

Galway (bizzarely enough as we’ve never done anything to them bar beat them in 2018) and Tipperary seem to be the ones taking things very poorly, which is a huge added bonus. Cork are too but they’re very quiet currently for very obvious reasons.

I’d agree. I’d say the 2013 Clare team were great.

Ye found love in a hopeless place.

That was a far far far better Waterford side than what Cork put out last weekend

Debateable they were coming to the end Cork at the start of their cycle

Ah shtap. What is debatable is of this cycle that Cork are at the start of will ever come close to what that Waterford team produced

Cork are coming like a train

We tried to tell ye last week we weren’t at the races but ye didn’t want to hear it

Maybe but Waterford were fucked when they were whisked away for the two weeks beforehand. They were only a pale shadow of themselves. That Kilkenny side have no equals including this present Limerick team at the moment. A nonsense discussion.

Cork fans taking their beating (trouncing) with good grace and some humour is troubling you I’d say, they were the ones who called the result as well right from the start, can’t you just enjoy what you have?

Cork fans in general were quietly confident going up. They were being that stupid type of coy that we all know well.

I’m not happy with what we have. Why would I? There’s more to be won.

This won’t be over until the nation is weeping at Will Donoghues feet.

Anyway, why does it bother you?? What are you doing in the thread and replying to posts, sure didn’t you have lots of craic and fun and sport, painting kids faces, wearing your Sports Direct Cork top, having all the bantz with the neighbours, but sure wasn’t it all just wonderful and… zzzzzzzzzzz…

I’m a Cork fan  Why would I not reply to your nonsense that said Cork fans were taking it very badly but being quiet about it :joy: that bates Banagher

Do you often imagine stuff to give yourself a little boost?

We called it right, all the coyness was on your side.

@Watchyourtoes getting on on the action now, :grinning: what a gift my little post has been, 5 days in the waiting :kissing_heart:

You go to great lengths to tell us all that it’s all very enjoyable and it’s just a bit of fun. If that’s really the case you shouldn’t be getting your knickers in a twist because I think Cork are absolutely sick and have plenty of begrudgery about it but have to keep quiet about it.

If it doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter. Make up your mind.

Jesus mate, this forum is generally a bit of fun, I post about all sorts of things that aren’t life or death, but I’m not going to get excited, a game of hurling is fantastic entertainment while it’s going on.

To you it’s serious business, I accept that, can you not accept my stance?

Sure I’m having great fun

The way I follow sport is better than the way you follow sport

In fairness, you can stoke this if you wish, @Breaking_my_balls has taken fierce offence in my long held stance, I was just amused by his imagining that Cork fans have taken the latest defeat very very badly despite having no evidence to back it up,
And of course his belief that people not massively emotionally invested shouldn’t post

You’ve given a few lads a horn with that post. They have been sitting in the long grass

Cork knew they were underdogs but they were confident at the same time. I was talking to enough of them last week…the underage did them no favours in that regard, they lost the run of themselves… As herselfs cousin said to me Tuesday… ‘physically sick, never been as depressed after a game’

They believed alright and that belief was crushed.
