Limerick GAA 2022 - Dual Kings (Part 1)

You’d want to be doing it for years more to justify that.

Fucking hell. He didn’t do anything to deserve that.

I hope it’s ok to reply to you… But the one thing that goes against the current Limerick team is they’re up against cannon fodder. Tis easy look great when you’re up against dross. I suppose you can flip it the other way and say they are beating teams in second gear.

Bookmark the conversation for 2026.

Tipp are never ever beaten easily in Semple Stadium.
That was the year Cian Lynch played centre back.

2018 was a mild surprise at the time too.

Why would you not reply to me? I dunno.

They’ve a way to go yet, and they might need a proper rival to go toe to toe with a few times and come through classic battles if that’s what you mean?
I think they’re a great team but I don’t hold that half back line in such high regard as others clearly do, great halfback lines are a requirement of great teams

Waterford disposed of Tipp with relative ease in the final then didn’t they? Limerick v Waterford would have been some contest (Although Sean Finn may have been injured that year?). Tipp had a fine side in 2018, albeit most of them under 20 rather than 21.

Yes Gleeson was absolutely awesome back then.

An awful pity Waterford and Limerick never met any of those years.

He was left totally unmarked for much of that game. William Maher was roundly criticised after it. It was nip and tuck for a long time until last 10 mins when Waterford blew us away. What’s the story with Billy McCarthy now?

Andrew Coffey was supposed to be marking him and actually got 4 loose points but Gleeson was the home town hero at the peak of his powers that night. There was nothing anyone could do about it.

The Bennetts and Curran went to town finishing up too.

I don’t know what Billy McCarthys story is now to be honest. He was getting second opinions and third opinions a few months back I believe.

Steady on. No need for that.

Murphy lost form in 2018 and didn’t feature much after the round robin.

But was back in serious form in 2019 until he did his cruciate against Waterford.

I’d expect him to be back on the panel in 2021, and back in the 26. He’s a top player.

Has he been forgiven for the jersey incident?

I don’t know for certain; but generally I’d say new year, fresh start. He’s missed out on an AI medal over something really silly. His work rate on the pitch is exemplary.

What’s to forgive?

Era surely given what else has gone on that was hardly held against him :joy:

We’ve all done it

He should have been made captain.

He should run for the dail on an anti Tipp platform
