Did he ever really get a prolonged run at wing back? A few league matches alright. He was too good at timbering to move out of the full back line really.
His hurling improved no end after the season under donal o Grady.
I remember him playing there in a few big games.
In later years there was no where else you could play him. But he would have made a great centre back I reckon
