Minor injury.

Costello out with a hamstring?

Senior hurling

Bit of a makeshift defence but they should get away with it.

From midfield up that’s some team

The bench doesn’t look half as strong without Dowling

Good players there but we don’t have anyone that is going to change the momentum of a game or produce match winning goals.

He is a huge loss!

Adrian Breen is the best chance of a goal off the bench

Is Jerome Boylan the only real defender on that bench?

I don’t know about O’Grady or Connolly at all.

Crazy how Ronan Lynch isn’t deemed good enough for that panel. He’d thrive in this year’s championship.

Kiely doesn’t rate him.

Pity Dempsey isn’t there.

In fairness Ronan Lynch would be a better option off the bench than any of those defensive subs . Be able slot into any position also .

Simon has a goal in him.

Adrian Breen is unproven at this level but is certainly capable of a match winning goal. Pat Ryan has proven he is capable.

The Dow is obviously a huge loss nonetheless.

It’s a shame Dempsey is unavailable, he was in brilliant form and would have added a lot whether starting or coming on.

He has. I think Breen has a better chance of snaflling a goal out of nothing though

O’Grady is a back, pacy & tough. Connolly was originally covering midfield, covering backline now. Very nice hurler.

All three are young though, all U-21; lack experience at the highest level.

I just don’t get it.

Even in a normal year, he could probably slot in for Hannon at any time and do the same job and this year of years he could fill in anywhere and make an impact.

I’d have him wing back ahead of POL, easily. Ahead of Hanley at midfield or reidy at half forward either. That’s before you even look past the subs bench.
