NCW would be the favourites but they were beaten by Monaleen this morning, 2-22 to 1-16. Monaleen would be considered strong too but still, the margin would be a bit of a shock.
And NaP had beaten Monaleen by a point during the week. So it looks like it’s between the three of them for two spots in the semi-final in that group. @habanerocat do you know why Na Piarsaigh have only played one game? Most teams have played three, we’ve played four.
In our group, we’re now through and it’s between Doon & Cappamore for the other semi-final spot. We drew with Doon and I’d expect them to edge that.
Monaleen are always good underage. Great to see Kildimo competing at premier, a club really on the up. NCW seem to have house in order too with small ball .
Two late James Lanigan frees earn a point for C/K on their Intermediate debut. Croagh star man Jack Lenihan departed the scene injured at second water break. Seamus Flanagan scored 2-7 for Feohanagh, caught the world of high ball although C/K did get to grips with him better in second period. His brother Sean hurled well too at 6. Eoin Barry’s tidy finish for C/K’s second goal had Croagh 2 ahead with 10 minutes gone in second half. But a couple of nice points from play, allied to three beautifully stroke Jamie Butler frees edged Feohanagh two ahead with 5 to go, until Lanigan had the last say for Croagh.
Very much all to play for, with both teams now facing Knockaderry in their next match.
