Any match with a gate , Ref gets his fee but umpires and linesmen should get 20 each also , 12 paying spectators would cover that cost - at the moment umpires and linesmen get nothing , not even a cup of tea at half time - no wonder ref’s find it hard to get umpires for championship games

Agree fully with you. I reckon a panel of umpires should be trained up by the CB and made available to refs to assist at games. Can surely onky progress the games and help refs and make our games more enjoyable

For all his failings I have to complement Mikey Browne last night. 2 linesmen, 4 umpires all miked up. And to be fair to him he contributed to an entertaining game. He’s a bit lax on calling steps but other than that did well.
