CON (playing midfield) is winning the battle of the county men thus far, was slow to get going but hit 3 great scores from play in the last 10 mins. Hego is completely wasted at centre back, was anonymous for the first 25 mins before taking it upon himself to go up half forward where he’s caused commotion, scoring a point and nearly scoring a goal. Young Hego looks dangerous but has hit 5 wides
No score since 53rd minute of Crecora match? Big injury or teams died a death?

I suppose the loss of a couple of good players for their first couple of Championship matches killed them. Small margins in all of their losses.
Pats win by 1, hego with 5 from play in the second half up centre forward. Crecora missed 2 awful frees in injury time. Only themsleves to blame

Out of interest, was it C O’N or Conheady with the missed frees towards the end?
Cathal a great free taker from distance but funnily enough, from within 50 metres he snatches at the frees and his conversion rate isn’t great for them in comparison to other short range free takers.
Conheady missed both, Crecora fucked it away keeping CON on Hego when they needed him replying down the other end. Pats goal came directly from a horrendous refereeing decision but thems the breaks.

While Declan O Driscoll did absolutely ride crecora, crecora have to look at themselves. The decision to leave Cathal marking hego was braindead as hego was getting on top and Cathal was out of the game completely. Crecora had some awful wides down the stretch but the 2 hegos did miss some bad frees throughout the game so that kinda cancels that out. Hego finished with 6 from play, Cathal with 4, so us neutrals were entertained at least. Pats having nothing outside of the hegartys, crecora have a better supporting cast but nobody you can rely on. Chris Shanahan and Conheady both got some good scores from play in the second half but no scores could be got down the stretch when crecora needed them most. Cant see pats winning a 1/4 unless they start both hegos in the forwards

Adare 1-11 South Liberties 1-7 at half time.
South Liberties have hit a good few wides, they have been fairly reliant on frees for scores. Brendan O’Connor has four from play for Adare.
South Liberties had a strongish breeze that’s getting stronger. Barry Nash wasn’t too impressed with the occasional short puckout, at one stage he even enquired if his cousin was fucking stupid.

The pitch in the kilmallock patrickswell game looks like you’d expect it in February. It’s a way down from IC.
