19 points is a good return considering it was all scored in 40 minutes, albeit they had the wind in the second half. NCW tried to work the ball through the lines but it broke down / Effin closed them down more often than not.
Nickie was quiet enough by his standards but you could hardly blame him.
Nice enough crowd in the stand @balbec, maybe a couple of hundred at a push.

Effin are a fine team but you’d surely have got 3 or 4 to 1 on them beating NCW by that much. Newcastle have to be the most frustrating team at Premier level.
How much did Paddy O’Donovan get from play or was it all frees?
I like Effin a lot but did expect NCW to win this.
Now the Premier Intermediate is a funny competition - a good start is perhaps less important than the other divisions. It’s all about making the semi-final and once you’re there, anything can happen.
