Limerick GAA 2023-2024.... 5 in a row is not here

All fabulous players I think

1-8 might be the issue though. We are going through a phase of forwards coming out the production line at pace when historically it was the area limerick k teams struggled with

It will all be looked after @Percy , donā€™t worry mate.

Half of them will be getting nominated for HOTY at corner back in a few years

Askeaton have gone from 8-2 down after 15 mins to lead 2-6 to 0-9 at the break.

Oisin Oā€™Farrell bagging a sensational 2-2

Cracking game in Clarina as a very young Askeaton side dig out a big win 2-13 to 0-16.

Oisin Oā€™Farrell was outstanding, scoring 2-8, i think at least 2-4 from play.

Theyā€™ll rue those two losses in games they could easily have won. Losing both in the final minute.

What if the well beat monagea?

Just in from askayton

Mungret championship unbeaten run is now at 20

No good.
Monagea have H2H on both BB and Askeaton so would qualify before score difference came into it.

Iā€™m open to correction here, but H/H couldnā€™t qualify for a Q/F. Even though they won today, theyā€™ll still finish level on points with third placed Pallas, even if Bruree beat Pallas, and H/H will lose out on the head to head.
As far as Iā€™m aware, itā€™s the top 3 in each group who go through. The two winners straight to semi, 2nd & 3rd go to quarters.

Pallas, Kilmallock and H/H all finished on 4pts in the group I thought?

In that case, H/H are on top on score difference through the old and new rule, whatever is used.

I think Kilmallock winning has thrown the expectations but youā€™re right, I think.

Another great win for Old Christians

Extremely distressing scenes in Ballingarry earlier this afternoon as the Croom v Feohanagh game was blown up prematurely following a medical emergency.

The game was in added time when a player in possession slipped as he was tackled and received a blow to the chest. Completely accidental and zero malice in the challenge.

It quickly became apparent it was quite serious. The ref blew the game up. The player was prone on the ground and the defibrillator in the clubhouse was quickly summoned. Everyone in attendance was stunned into silence as the lad was worked on. Shocked players from both teams were eventually shepherded off the field. The player who made the innocuous tackle was very upset but it was just a freak accident, in no way shape or form was it his fault.

There was a doctor actually playing and he and others stabilised the injured chap. Really frightening incident. The air ambulance landed on the pitch, just after the conventional road ambulance arrived.

He was eventually brought by road into UHL. The indications seem to be heā€™ll be ok, and the defibrillator and medical assistance he received straight after it happened saved him.

Croom were well ahead when it happened but nobody who was in attendance gave one shit about the result after what happened. Have played in matches where lads have suffered a broken leg and ankle but this was something much scarier.

Goes without saying, best wishes to the lad. Well done to all present who helped out at such a stressful time - from both teams playing and the host club personnel. You see the best of people at times like that.

Na Piarsaigh 0-10 Newcastlewest 0-16

Poor enough game though the conditions didnā€™t help.

NCW were fairly comfortable throughout though were only two points up, 5-7, at half time after hitting eight wides with a small breeze.

NaP really struggled with delivery to forwards throughout the match. Hit a lot of fairly aimless ball and the forwards tended to be behind their man. It was their turn to be a bit wasteful in the second half with nine wides and finished the match with only four from play.

NCW forwards were that little bit slicker. Eoin Hurley, two from play and five frees, and Bryan Nix, three from play, probably the best of them.

NCW hit I think four in a row after half time and held a five or six point lead for most of the half. They won most rucks of which there were plenty given the amount of rain that fell before the match.

NaP should have goaled midway through the second half to make more of a game of it. Dylan Lynch had a shot blocked very close to his strike, he probably should have passed to Evan Sweeney who was free. NCW keeper Michael Quilligan made a great save from a low James Finn shot at the end of the game also. Probably would have been too little too late anyway though the ref played six or seven minutes injury time.

Effin -10
Bruff, Blackrock, NCW, D/A - 8
NaP - 4
Glenroe - 2
Cappamore - 0

I didnā€™t know if it was SD or ā€˜head to headā€™ that would separate three teams tied. Thanks for clearing it up. Itā€™s H/H through so. Pallas managing a measly four points against Bruree today has done for them.

Is it Feohanagh v Knockaderry in a relegation play off?

Seems so.

In group 1, Knockaderry finish bottom on two points.

Unexpected last day victories for Kilmallock and Hospital push them on to four points, along with Pallasgreen.

In the other group, Croom seeing off Feohanagh sees them both end on two points with Croom having the advantage of the head to head result today.
