Limerick GAA 2023-2024.... 5 in a row is not here

Why the fuck should Hego stay? He gets no protection from refs. Itā€™s open season on him in every match.

The implosion has begun

Wow

Heā€™s certainly reffed very differently. While he canā€™t go taking the law into his own hands, the unchecked fouling done to him certainly lends to what we saw last day.

All stemmed from the whining after he manhandled Canning.

Better and faster team but sloppy at times.
Longford have the breeze

I thought they were a Carlow team gone to the wrong venue

Good win. Throw up a report when you get a chance

And bad ones at that

Limerick won and were the better side overall. Mistakes in possession kept Longford in the game. They need to be a lot more clinical from here on but a win is a win after a long run without one. They will improve from here and will have some more depth to the squad in the coming games.

With both teams allowing space for the short kickout, it was a running game which suits limerick. Playing into a breeze they got a goal as their opening score with a fine finish by Downes across the keeper to the top corner.
Longford made use of the breeze and kept the score ticking over with a lively inside line that showed up well.

A 4 point lead allied to a terrible set of rondos from the Longford subs augured well for the second half breeze to come. However longford took the initiative for much of the half and a series of good points narrowed the margin on a number of occasions to 2 points.

A top-drawer penalty from Brianā€™Donovan took the lead to 5 that subsequently went out to 6 to allow for a seemingly comfortable finish. Longford put their #3, the bull, into the square and he quickly delivered a goal. The limerick defensive response to this move was poor

Hard to call man of the match. Donie made two fine saves. Cian Sheehan mixed inspiring with errors. Nasher had a very good outing with a couple of points and won a lot of ball.
Interesting to see 19 year old Darragh Murray make his debut. He could be a good one

2 points and still in position to top the group. On to carlow next Saturday for another look at those awful jerseys. A few pints in whatever town will have a room available at a reasonable price before hitting the square for Sunday (woe to mickey bowes).

The pitch was in great condition. Credit to the football board for the halftime entertainment. The Gaels and abk put on an entertaining u13 game (expertly reffed by Mikey Browne).

The programme was rubbish though. Just about had the teams in it.

Big week ahead. Unfortunately last weekend means we will have to beat Cork in the last round regardless to qualify.

If Clare beat Cork then our game with Tipperary is much less important as we can lose and still be in cā€™ship Sunday evening.

Two big performances needed and we will be fine. Jason Forde loss is huge for Tipperary - heā€™s a scoring machine.

Be interesting to see our fullback line. Think they may opt for Richie English over Mike Casey

Murray got no run at all in the league, did he?

Did Cathal play well?

Nobody is going to do Limerick any favours.

Kiely has turned into an incredibly conservative selector in recent years. Iā€™d be surprised if itā€™s not Mike Casey.

Correct there

Any update on Hego?

I see the Premier View is now posting it in twitter without giving name away

Paste up that tweet please!

The fucking eejits if they fell for that
